My mom's cat got an AB yesterday. She was diagnosed with a UTI. My mom's second cat is harassing her and she's afraid to go to the lb and is holding it in. Any suggestions on how to get the younger cat to stop bothering the older cat? My mom thinks he just wants her to play, but it is pretty constant and she doesn't know what to do about it.

Cat puzzles are a good way to entertain them as well. You can use dry kibble (boo) or I use freeze dried treats.

I would second @Beenie's suggestion: try interactive toys to tire out the younger cat. A tired kitten is a good kitten. I have also had great luck with the DaBird toy and with Jackson Galaxy's air wand.

The "Cat Dancer" is a terrific toy for energetic cats. So simple: little rolls of cardboard on a bent wire. Rusty loved it when he was younger, as did Stu.
