09/02 Blaze AMPS 317 +3/293 +5/142

You don’t need to feed a lot to avoid a bounce. Last night a few spoonfuls of lc after the +5 would have been enough. He’s going to bounce until he gets used to normal again. Small amounts early if lower than he’s been might help.

So let me see if I am understanding this correctly:

Giving LC early is ok as well...I don't need to give MED carb (9%) at any point during the cycle to boost things, right? For example, from last night's cycle to this morning, the difference from his last night reading (+5/194) to his AMPS (317) wasn't as big as usual...he is usually much higher. Is this still a bit of a bounce or did he do a bit better?

Also, for this AM cycle, he ate a lot of LC pate at +5...I also gave him a teaspoon of 9% pate when he was done the LC. Was that necessary or not? I am just about to do a +6 reading as well...

Sorry about these questions...I am trying to understand better.

Lc is under 10% so it was fine to give him that. If he was under 150 a little 10-15% would be good. Some cats actually do better with 9% than lower. It depends how carb sensitive. Unless getting low it’s best to not feed during the second half of the cycle to get duration. You just didn’t need to feed a large amount. you do want to make sure he gets his daily amount of calories each day.

Keep asking questions. No apologies. I apparently wasn’t clear.

Ok...his regular pate that he has for his meals is 4% (cod, sole, shrimp) or 5% (salmon and shrimp). He loves those two...when I give him the teaspoon it is 9% (tuna feast flaked) which he devours quickly....so I am really still under 10%.
At +5 he was hungry and went himself to the bowl and ate qute a bit of the LC 4%, then I added a teaspoon of the 9%.
I tested just now at +6 and he went up a bit...
Does this cycle look ok so far?
I know that he will not want to eat for another 3 hours...then at around +9, he gets hugry. I usually let him eat at that time and then I remove all bowl before the evening shot and meal time.

He’s on the way up I think. Looks like he needs less than 10% . Next time try only giving that if close to green. I would not feed at +9 unless he’s low. If you do feed just a teaspoon or two. The +9 is usually given if close to remission or you think he will be too low to shoot.

Ok so the regular pates will do then.
If that's ok, in the next days until school starts (Sept 9th) I will post each morning and maybe (like the last time - pre-remission) I can get some guidance through the cycles.
So I can get more of a hold of doing things correctly and then starting the 9th, I can see how I manage with work and everything.
Would that be ok?

Ok, when he get hungry at around +9 I will give just a little amount to tie him over

Of course. Post as often as needed. Add the question mark prefix as needed. The more you post the more eyes on your condo too. I’ve asked Bhoona, @Bandit's Mom to look at your condo too early in morning for me.

Yup. I am around if you need help. :-)

Can I help you with shifting the 2021 data on to a new tab on your SS? That will make it easier for people to see the latest info rather than scrolling through all of 2000. We ask people to make a new tab for every year. I can do this for you.
