? 08/23 Theodore +4 538

From your signature I noted you are following SLGS, are you still feeding dry food?

It also appears that you only shot 2.5u this morning. It’s important to remember that you are dosing based on how low the dose is taking the kitty, not preshots. When following SLGS as a guideline, doses should be held for 7 days, then a curve should be done to determine whether a dose adjustment should be made; however, spot checks at different times when possible help to fill in some of the missing pieces, and give you a better idea of how the dose is working.

Just an observation, but why not just switch to a FSL meter if you are using FSL strips? ;)

The clear puke isn’t related to the dose increase.

hi Christie,

yes my vet left me an email giving me a hard time for not adjusting based on reading. Honestly I was just worried as I was out the whole morning so I guess my thought was “playing it safe”. Theodore is an exception with the dry food, he has megacolon and Everytime I tried removing dry, he gets backed up which last time put him in emerg then dka, he gets minimal dry food but still needs that little bit to fork his poops nicely for me he’s been doing well pooping almost everyday. Took us a year to get to that point. Before he would poop every 4-5 days

Good to hear the poop routine is regular :). That’s ok, I just wanted to check that there hadn’t been any changes to his diet. Does he have access to food while you are gone?

My apologies I missed your message, he does have access to food while I am gone. If I do not leave food for him, he flips over his water bowls! He has fountains and bowls, only flips the bowls
