AMPS 85 shooting 3.25u
I feel like Boomer might want to earn a reducie soon. Perhaps it might be today.

I had such trouble getting Boomer to eat at +3 last night; I was so very tired I was actually in tears; I was so frustrated. I need to do something different to get him to eat at night; both at our bedtime and during the night. For quite some time I've been giving a small amount of food at pm +2 just to encourage him to surf a bit higher so that I can sleep without worrying. Sometimes I test at +2, sometimes not. But I don't think the food at +2 is helping his appy at +3. Since he onsets between +2 and +3, I'm wondering about feeding a meal at +2 instead of just a bit of a snack......I might have to make the PMPS meal a bit smaller so that he's hungry enough at +2 for a meal. What are the repercussions of doing this? Or perhaps I need to test every night at +2 and only give the snack when it's actually needed and that way he'll be hungrier at +3? IDK but something has to change.

As for the rest of the night....I think I need to find some food that he REALLY likes and give it to him only at night. Haven't made it to the pet store yet to find the Weruva Pates but will get there today.

I'm sorry Boomer is being so picky about his night time food. You won't know how any changes will affect him until you try. I think trying to feed at +2 instead of +3 is a good idea. Just take good notes. It could also be he doesn't need as much food when he is surfing greens so he isn't as hungry. Nice surfing today. Love the picture.
 
Forgot to mention....there's a Snowy Owl that's been hanging around just outside of our city. Everyone figures it must be an old one and couldn't make it up north. Of course DH and I went to find it yesterday afternoon and it was missing; everyone else I know saw it yesterday :rolleyes:

Thanks Carla. Yes I keep telling myself that he doesn't need as much food. But he flatly refuses anything I try (including food that he eats during the day) and of course I want to make sure he's eating something during the night.

All my cats LOVE the Pates! Now it's a problem that Ravan wants to eat the entire can. He gobbles his & tries to eat the other cats as well :eek:

I tried ordering it from Chewy but they told me they didn't have the pates yet? I did find the 5.5oz cans at Petco. The Chicken "Checkmate" is the favorite.
I don't know if you have Petco where you're at?

Judy, have you tried the Purebites trays? I think they're fairly new. I bought a couple of the Chicken and water at PetValue and Leo loves them (for now anyway...) It's just a supplement food so if Boomer likes it you could try putting some on his regular food or giving him a tray at snack time. It says "high in protein, 30 calories" and it looks and smells like what they said, just chicken and water. There's a few other flavors also.

The Phoebe is saying "thanks for taking my picture and making me famous lady!"

Purebites trays? No, I haven't heard of them, I give him purebites snacks though.
 
So I finally got to Global Pet Foods and they don't have the new Weruva canned pates. IDK whether that means they're just not available in Canada yet or whether this particular store doesn't carry them yet. I didn't feel like going to another store. They did have the Weruva pates in pouches so I got some of them to try out.

Tonight...an experiment.
Slightly smaller PM meal, chicken pate
+2 meal instead of a snack to be given then a snack at +3
In his buffet, friskies turkey & giblet and new food weruva chicken dinner
