Okay I’ll pick some up today. Furball gets diarrhea?I'm not sure what causes diarrhea. I buy small empty capsules and break open the S. Boulardii capsules and put the powder into them. I'm not sure if Molly would eat it mixed into food. You can also try plain pumpkin. Some cats will eat it mixed into food and some won't.
ETA: I usually end up breaking the S. Boulardii capsule into thirds.
It's been quite a while since she had diarrhea. Antibiotics can cause diarrhea and that may be the last time she had it.Furball gets diarrhea?
Thank you for this. I’ve been worried as to why she has diarrhea. I’ll cook some chicken breast today for her. Look at different options for FF. Do you know any off hand?Hi Adrienne,
Here's a more updated link to using S. boulardii (scroll down to the bottom), written by the same person who wrote the link Carla gave you: https://www.foodfurlife.com/my-cat-has-diarrhea---what-do-i-do.html#/.
Try to get the S. boulardii with the MOS, as the MOS acts as a prebiotic/fiber that helps the action of the probiotic.
Good luck with it and hope Molly feels better. Have you tried feeding her different food from FF? There might be some additives in it that are bothering her. You may want to try giving her some lightly cooked or poached bland meat (with some of the juices it's cooked in) if she will eat it until the diarrhea resolves itself.
Weruva has some good low carb pates that Molly might like. All are either chicken or fish based. @Librarianista has a great tab on Chloe's spreadsheet of a lot of the options they have to offer. I feed Ruby the PLAY Pates that are all low carb and most are low phosphorus as well. I don't know how easy it is to get them in Canada but they are worth a try.Thank you for this. Thank you, she ate this morning but I’m hoping she’ll be better lunch time. Someone had mentioned baby canned food pumpkin? Where it goes to waste if buying a big can. I’m going to poach some chicken breasts for her too. She loves chicken so I hope that will help.I’m so sorry your kitty isn’t feeling well!
The Weruva info is linked in my signature, though it does not list the primary ingredients in all cases. Others have mentioned a little canned pumpkin puree (no extra ingredients) mixed into wet food, which may help firm things up. I have to laugh a bit since one of Weruva’s chicken and pumpkin combos is called Funk in the Trunk, probably for this exact reason.
Thanks PamelaHealing hugs and prayers pretty little girl![]()
