Also, try and get at least one test in each cycle - especially ones with blue preshots - want to see if he comes down into green after food.

He did. We just switched his food, so maybe there wasn’t enough left out. I’m going to put more food in his +9 tonight. I know he was really hungry this morning. I’ll test him again at +3

His new food is 6% carbs when his old food was only 3%. I hope it isn't his new food that is causing the higher numbers. I know it's still good numbers, but I am paranoid lol.
 
I believe some cats see a temporary rise in blood sugar with a food change. You might want to feed lower carbs after his nadir.
