Last Night:
443 PMPS
463 +1.5 (TOR, he's using Levemir insulin and it has a later onset than Lantus does and I gave him some R at +9.5)
215 +4.75
283 +7

I was up at +7.5 (1:30am) PMing with Marje about how to make chicken soup (Thank you, Marje :YMHUG: ) and still waiting for the chicken meat to fall off the bones. It had been 7.5 hours of boiling and then simmering. The skin was holding the meat and bones into a chicken shape. I turned off the burner and set my alarm for 3:00am to see if it was cool enough to debone it, but I did not wake up. The broth is cooling now.

I am now working on the SEB.

J.D. has had 40ml of MaxCal so far, and two walks. I am bushed. I am hoping to go to sleep as soon as we get home from work tonight.

I hope J.D. likes the broth and the SEB helps him. I hope you will be able to get some sleep tonight. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I just gave J.D. the Slippery Elm Bark.

The recipe I've always used for SEB syrup is:
Into a small saucepan place 1/2 cup cold water and 1 teaspoon powdered slippery elm bark. Whip with a fork. Bring to simmer over low flame, stirring constantly. Simmer 1 or 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Cool and refrigerate. Keeps 7 or 8 days. Give a teaspoon of syrup (5 cc) for an average-size cat (again, about 10 pounds) 5 minutes before a meal.

I will wait a couple of minutes and then give him some more MaxCal. Then, I am hoping to nap for 30 minutes, and then I have to get us ready to leave for work.

I load up several feeding syringes w/ the SEB and store in the freezer. It lasts for a lot longer than 5 days that way. Tess gets about 2cc twice a day. I hope it helps.

How does J.D. like his broth?
