? 08/05 Sir Tom AMPS. 29.4, 21.7 @ +3, 20.7@+6.5; DOSAGE HELP NEEDED

Hi everyone! I posted just over a week ago regarding dosage help. Here is the old thread if you need reference:
https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...-23-4-dosage-help-needed.250327/#post-2824470

Here are the main points:
Right now, due to IBD being life threatening recently, he needs to be on high carb food to stabilize IBD. He is also on budesonide for IBD. He was doing well on Royal Cannin AN Allergenic but due to covid I could not get this and had to switch to RC hypoallergenic and his BG has just been going up and up. I got the previous advice to even out am and pm doses and try 3 units lantus am and pm for 3 days to a week. I did not post in 3 days as I was away and did not want my cat sitter adjusting the insulin without me there but now I am home!

Please take a look at my numbers over the past week. I am thinking to continue increasing the insulin, but I am not sure how to go about this.

As always, thank you all for your kindness and support of me and sweet Sir Thom!

You need to get a second test at night as cats often go lower then. I wonder if he did last night looking at the amps. With his numbers I would increase to 3.5 provided you can monitor. Is his food dry? Does it come in cans too if it is?

Okay thank you! Do I have to do every 2 hours overnight too or when should I test?

It does come in wet and we are trying to switch and try toppers etc but I haven't had any luck (yet) in getting him to eat it. I'm not giving up though!

No you don’t need to do every two hours at night. We aren’t that cruel. You need sleep. When you do a curve after 7 days it’s either every two hours for either cycle or every 3 hours for 18 hours. Just try and get a before bed test and if it’s lower than the pmps get another test between +4-7.

Okay thank you so much!

So just to clarify, when do you do the curve? Every day for a week? Or at the beginning and end of the week? I am a bit confused on that part. The vet told me to do a curve for three days when changing the dose.
