Again, I expected a slightly higher # this morning, and I wasn't surprised. LOL That's ok, though... We're on the road to losing a bit of weight.

This morning, after I took care of everyone outside, and went to take a hummingbird feeder off the hook, only to look up, and see a snake right above my hand. Thankfully, it didn't move, but I did tell my husband, and I was extremely scared as all get out as I didn't know what kind it was. Hubby took care of it, researched it on the net, and found out that it was a Texas Rat Snake. It was hovering above the feeder for the hummingbirds. It eats rats (of course), mice, and small birds. That thing was NOT going to eat my little hummingbird visitors, thank you very much. Never a dull moment when living in the country, I tell you.

MY WISH: For God to help those who are ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

Nise start for Blackie. Hope your weather has improved. We also hope you get some much needed rain. I don't like snakes, we have rattlers and copperheads and a few others here in FL. Wonderful that DH saved the birds. Have a good day, stay cool.

Great start for Blackie today!

Yikes!! That is the one thing I can't stand. Was it poisonous? I think all snakes in TX and OK are poisonous. How did your speed bump situtaion go?

PMPS 129, 4.00f, 0.93 oz. (26 grams) Evo 95% C&T

Apparently, the snake wasn't poisonous, according to my husband who researched the danged thing. Frankly, I don't care. It scared the jeevies out of me, and he could tell that I was frightened. I honestly don't think I've ever been that scared in my entire life. I'm just glad that he got rid of it so that it couldn't go after the hummingbirds. It was a small one, but that doesn't matter.

As far as the speedbump situation is concerned, I believe that he's still around as there's evidence of tunneling on our property. I seriously doubt that it's gopher because these tunnels look a lot larger in circumference. THAT war is not over.

And we broke another record today with another 106 day. Tomorrow, another hot day, with the heat index up to 111. Again. I'm looking forward to next Friday. 10% chance of rain, and it'll be 102. Yes, it's still over 100, but it's definitely NOT 107 or 110. In fact, today didn't feel nearly as hot as it had been. Still hot though, but not as hot.

Re: 08/05 Blackie PMPS 129

Maybe it is an Armadillo. We have them in FL and they can make big holes if they burrow in the pastures. Dangerous for the horses. Nice PMPS for Blackie. Glad the snake is gone.

Will be feeding her in 20 mins, then off to bed. Very busy day tomorrow for us. No a/c in the truck, and we have a lot of running around to do. *sigh* It is what it is. LOL
