Looks like Abbott decided to start August off with a bang and gave me his lowest preshot ever. AMPS 80

i shot full dose on time.

Fed usual 1 tbsp LC at shot time.

I did not get a spot check last night and regretting it now, wonder how low he got.

I might need some help today. I know that 16% has been holding numbers steady or unchanged the last few times I’ve fed.

I have 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18%
And honey and karo.

thinking about getting a +1?
Maybe should give him some carbs now since I don’t know if he’s on way up or down?

Check at +1 see if he got a food bump. Give him a small tsp or so of mc at +1 after snack see if that helps. Usually if they start low they wont dive as big. They stay more flat. Even if he is in 60s at +2 dont panic it doesnt mean he will go to low by +3. I wouldnt do HC I'd stick to the mc to see if you can get a good surf on him :cat:

Ok, he usually get 1 tbsp LC from feeder at +1, his LC is raw so is actually no carb. A tsp of MC with that would be what %? Like 10 or 12?

I'm sorry to hear she is sick. I hope she recovers quick. Take care of yourself too!!
Yes her symptoms are moderate and she is in isolation and we are wearing masks and taking precautions. I’m trying not to get it too because then who will take care of this sugar cat?? :)

The FF I have is 15 and not 10 like I thought. Closest I have is 12% so I will just use that if flat or lower at +1.

I think you are just finally at a dose that he is responding too. It isnt uncommon for the dives and then spikes due to the dives. That's why we are suggesting maybe mc to help slow the dive. While all data is good a +1 and a +1.5 aren't too necessary. Maybe a +1 am cycle + 1.5 pm cycle. It can help you to figure out where his onset is.

There is no exact science or formula to this btw. One day the mc will work and he will have a nice no dive cycle. And next day it will keep him higher or he will still dive. If you are very logical sometimes it can be frustrating...trust me on this part LOL

you didn’t mean feed MC now did you?
Just in general when he is diving right?

and note taken on the testing for onset

It’s just cycles like this where I don’t know where I’m at and how to handle it. How would you handle a cycle like this, when would you test?
I usually only get a +1 if he starts lower or if I have to work early. I know my boy is a diver just by the data collection. I would definitely get a +2 and then decide from there if a larger drop maybe a +3 if not wait a couple hours and get a +4 or even +5.

Unfortunately most days I dont have the luxury of spreading my tests out too much as I work. So a lot if times I get several in a row like each hour. So I can predict what he may do before I go to work and plan accordingly.

It's a learning process. You will soon discover when he generally will drop and approximately how much. I say generally cause just when you think you've got it they decide to throw a curve LOL

Thanks that’s very helpful, I have a general idea what I’m doing but then things change and I get weird cycles that throw me for a curve but that’s kind of the nature of the sugar beast

still it’s helpful to see what more experienced members do in certain situations

You should also look at other members ss. It can give you an idea of when others are testing how often dives flat cycles. It's all good learning:bighug:

And yes nature of the sugar beast is to be as unpredictable as possible...le sigh

Sometimes I look at my cat and see his true self

PMPS 110,

I had to run some errands today and couldn’t get a late cycle test.

@Bandit's Mom
Planning on getting a +1 like we talked about last night to see if he’s having an early onset.
The +1 this AM wasn’t very illuminating, maybe he had a later nadir, but wasn’t able to test.
I’m around all night tonight.

+1 @100
Fed LC feeder

looking like a low flat day!
His average today has been around 100 or slightly under.

think it’s worth getting a 1.5?

Just seeing this. Flat as a pancake! He has been eating his usual raw tonight?
+2 @100 same as +1, super flat all day, lowest PS ever this AM, lookin good, he’s currently playing with Stella and chasing her around the house. Bright and alert.

yes usual LC feeder, haven’t fed any carbs all day
