07/26 SINVER AMPS 397 +1 268 +3 347 +8 270 PMPS 287 +2 249

Today we woke up high, maybe it could be because my husband pricked him yesterday with the old insulin pen, or that he stole some feed this morning because my husband is not very attentive to those things ... let's wait and see how the day goes. He is not hungry for his usual food. I will put him on his insulin and control him during the day.....

Hi Xelo, good luck today. Hoping Sinver settles back down.
Why is it that many DH’s just don’t pay attention??

Ivy doesn’t eat our food so that’s not an issue here. But my DH always wants to know if we can “just feed her some carbs” and off we go with no worries:banghead:

Um sir, no, it doesn’t just work like that with her.
Many times she still drops, even with higher carbs…
He wants our old life back (who doesn’t).
I keep explaining what goes on but I think he’s not “liking” my answers.
Sigh. Solidarity of the caregivers

Hello that happens to us since we started my husband does not want to see the reality that the cat is diabetic and we have to treat him as a diabetic. He also wants to live a normal life but I have told him that while sinver is with us that is the plan to take care of him and give him everything he needs for his illness. He always says that the cat comes before us but he comes before us because he is part of our family too. My husband is also one of those who would give him everything that the cat asks for and that will last as long as it will last because I will not allow that... today I asked him for sure that he does not steal food and he says no but many times he has left the food and has gone to do other things forgetting that he left it there... but well we will try to take him the best we can... have a good weekend stacy

It’s very frustrating, Xelo. I feel the same as you do. Ivy needs me to care for her and that limits what I can do outside of our home.
We cannot have our old life right now. It’s not possible while she needs my care.
I’m sorry you are also struggling with a similar situation. Sending you hugs of support :bighug::cat::bighug:
