Jo sent me an update on Dusty and I responded back, as follows:
I'll check the Target on Olentangy River Rd, since its on my way home anyway, and see if they have the unflavored Metamucil there. They are a big enough store that they may have it.
They also may have an oral syringe, so I'll look for that. If not, I can ask my vet for a couple of oral syringes.

Glad he is eating well for you. Since cats wouldn't ever catch a cow or a fish in the wild, its OK if he eats just the chicken and turkey varieties. Its OK if he doesn't eat the dry, as it puts a work load on the kidneys. Canned is better. It is OK to leave some out, to make sure he can eat if he is hungry and the canned is finished. (Note: Dusty is on 2 units of Lantus, BID, and she doesn't test, so I want to be sure he has food at all times.)He is eating at least 4 small cans a day so hopefully he will gain some weight. I think it is all Wellness (dry) now but he doesn't eat too much of it as he likes the cans, but doesn't like the liver or beef, so will stick with he chicken and turkey. I've really gone through those cans we got the other day and hope they are on sale again soon so I can stock up.
Its OK if he doesn't drink any milk - adult cats don't need it, so don't worry about getting any. In fact, if you stop giving him milk, that may help with the diarrhea. What about Cat Sip? He doesn't drink the lactaid like he did the regular milk.
He is still having diarrhea--- I will try the pumpkin again but have to get some and will look for the Metamucil.
I am still having trouble with the pills.
