Happy start of the week to all kitties and pawrents! :bighug:

I started my week by oversleeping and delaying today’s AMPS by 1.5 hours. I got up to feed his PM +10 snack and passed out.

On another note, I’ve been wondering if the insulin is petering out and I need to get a new one or if I’m overthinking as usual.
The vial is three months old. It doesn’t appear to be cloudy.

I can’t really tell if there’s much of a difference in his BGs between 0.25, 0.1 and a drop dose, except that the blue AMPSes are fewer since using the +9 food hack.

Since the BG also drops after food, I can’t tell anymore if it’s the insulin or the food doing the work. :D

I don’t want to be any more wasteful with the insulin than I already have been, but I could get the 3ml vial which is a bit cheaper than the pen.

I’ve been not doing as many tests during every cycle now since he stays flat and I was trying to be conservative with the strips. Would it help to increase the readings?

Thoughts? @Bandit's Mom @Bron and Sheba (GA) :)

Piu looks adorable! I've read here that calicos can be spicy!
She totally is! :D

Masti has recovered fully?
Not quite but he’s getting there. He had to have another corrective surgery of sorts one month after his first one, since the new urinary opening was very very tiny and was starting to close up.
The vet says it’s rare but some cats need the surgery every 4 months. Hope it doesn’t come to that. The post-op care is a killer, what with Masti trying to pull out the temporary catheter despite a cone :blackeye:
But he bounced back quicker this time, so that’s good :)

Thanks for asking, Bhooma!:bighug:

The last 6 days are looking great with green amps as well.
I would not be thinking of getting new insulin at this point.
I think you are doing enough tests.

Hi Nimi
Shen is looking amazing. I was reading about Masti ,I hope he's doing better and praying he won't be needing additional surgeries . Poor baby :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Thank you for your wishes Diane! :bighug: I hope so too.

Here’s a couple more pictures of Masti since you found him adorable :p

I agree with Bron. I don't think there is a problem with the insulin. I've always been able to use every pen to the last drop. On days you are home, you could try getting later tests in the AM cycle - instead of/in addition to the +2. Not mandatory - just interesting to see whether he is going much lower later in the cycle.

Is Masti on low carb wet food?

I'll do those tests. I'm avoiding some for fear of getting a blue BG :p

Is Masti on low carb wet food?
He's on wet food as of now but not low carb, I think. My friend in the middle of transitioning them to wet but with 6 cats it will take some time. Some of them are picky, Masti being one of them.
He had to be syringe fed for the better part of a month after his surgery. :blackeye:
My friend is also looking into making their food at home, but is testing the waters first.
