J.D. keeps pooing close to the litter box, sometimes in it, but more often than not just close to it. And mostly pees in it, but sometimes not. So, I Googled "Pooing outside the litter box" and got maybe IBD which says it involves diarrhea but J.D.'s poos are always solid. And then I was cleaning the litter box as J.D. was approaching and he had runny diarrhea right next to the pee pad (on the carpet) with a tiny bit of red blood at the end of it. Last night he had what looked (and smelled) like a hairball coming out when he pooed.

J.D. need eating vines and feel better tummy vines, please.

Weight this morning was 12lbs 5.75oz, so he's gained a little from 3 days ago.

I am soooooooo late, I have to leave for work. Please send any spare feel better vines you have to give to J.D.

He was eating when I left the house. It's just the poo issues that concern me, and the fact that he seemed to have a tummy ache. Is pooing (really pretty) close to the litter box the same as inappropriate elimination?
I left him gobbiling at some FF with FortiFlora when I walked out the door. Hoping for a better feeling J.D. when I get home.

Is JD in the box or out when he poos near it? Neko like to get in the LB, back up to the edge and sometimes her bottom is over the edge so the poos land outside instead of in. Her intentions are good, she's just directionally challenged. :lol: Maybe JD needs a low side entry LB? Just wondering whether it's hard for him to get in, or he's just not bothering to.
 
I came home to SEVEN licked clean empty bowls of food. There was a wet pee pad, but that's somewhat normal.

Most of the time he pees in the box, some of the times his feet are in the box but his butt is over the edge and he pees out (FAR) onto the pee pad, and some of the times he pees on the pee pad or floor before? he gets to the box (I guess), but it's always near the box, and his head is heading in the direction of the box.
Half? of the time he poos in the box, and some of the times his feet are in the box but he poos over the edge because he backs right up to the rim (which is 9 inches tall), and some of the times he poos next to the box but always real close.

My boyfriend asked me what I want for my Birthday and I thought a new litter box and a new automatic feeder, but I'm sure that's not appropriate for me to ask him for such things. A black light to find hidden pee would be good, though :lol:


J.D. ate his 1st Dinner and is currently laying out in the boiling hot outside on the deck.
My catsitting duties have come to an end as their owners came home, so that frees up some time to spend on the board again. AND, it's my 3 day weekend! YAY!
 
J.D. I hope your tummy feels better.

Dyana. I just had to laugh about asking for such presents. Spoken like a true mamabean. But that black light could sure come in handy. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I've just spent the last little while with an image in my mind of DBF looking for help at the pet store. When asked if the litter box is for his cat, he said "no, it's for my girlfriend's birthday present". :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah for that 3 day weekend and more time for you and JD!

So glad J.D. is eating good, Dyana. Hope he makes it in the LB and/or the poop is firmer (I know it makes for an easier cleanup!

Awwww....poor JD is litterbox challenged. So is Hector. If Bob poops right in the entrance of the LB, Hector feels it behooves him to go on the carpet. I would vote no on the black light - do you REALLY want to know?? I had Stanley steamer come in and they used the black light and I wanted to move out!!!! It shows anything organic including where they have barfed up hairballs. it was awful. I'm sure you can think of something MUCH better!

I bought a HUGE covered litterbox at Petco and it was the best thing I ever did! It holds about 60 pounds of litter and all 3 kitties use it. I haven't had too many issues since I bought it.

Glad JD is feeling a little better tonight!
 
Well, I just cleaned up 3 barfs from Ginger, and the other night, or was it morning? I cleaned up one pee spot, and one poop, and one barf. I am assuming the pee and poo were J.D.'s and the barf was Ginger's because she barfs a lot. You would think I had 8 cats here the way I am always cleaning up stuff..
