Hi Bella, sorry about the fur shot (I’ve given numerous as well). Sometimes Ivy surprises me and jumps away. Argh!!

On the side of his chest; basically on either side of the scruff. So, when he eats, he's like in the bottom of a pushup position and I can grab the skin there usually well (it's lose and pliable), but it seems more dense the past week - this coincides with a recent, significant, weight gain. What are your thoughts?
 
I shot just below the shoulder blades most of the time. Are you alternating side to side and around and up and down on each side? If not, you can get thick spots if you shoot the same place all the time. Another idea. Our not so little acros can grow extra muscle with the extra growth hormone and IGF-1, which is a key component to muscle growth. I've heard them referred to as little football players. Maybe try moving the shot up a bit? Could be you are getting close to shoulder muscles.

I'll be more aware of where I'm shooting; this could be part of it. I will also make the"tent" in varied directions - i used to do this more often.

Maybe I'll try closer to the scruff tomorrow. His hair has really thickened too; i used to shave him and will restart because it's frustrating to lose that much insulin.
