It was good to at least not have the tester greet me with a black HI this morning :) After last night's stubborn run I don't know what to expect today. I'll pop in often from work - fortunately work and home are near each other.

It's too soon to be excited but there's definitely a trend towards lower PMPS numbers the past few evenings, and now this morning's lower AMPS :)

@Wendy&Neko thank you for your most recent response. I'm looking forward to those flat, predictable curves and a beautiful blue 'n green SS like the ones I see on here so often.

Wishing everyone and their kitties a great, safe day (or night :coffee:)

Good morning, at least here it is. :coffee:

I used to hate when the meter greeted me in the morning with “hi”. It is good to see progress, and often the PM preshots are the first to move.

I saw your comment on Macka’s condo. Just wanted to mention that the +2 is a good one for Lantus, might not be for Levemir. I know some people find value in it, but I didn’t. My girl’s Lev onset was later than Zorro’s though. Just keep gathering data and you”ll find out which test helps you predict a cycle with more action. For me a +3 or 4 was better. And the direction from AM+9 to PMPS let me know if the following cycle would need early attention. Again, each cat is different.

You might want today’s date on the subject line. ;)

Good morning Wendy :coffee:
Over here we are nearly done with the work day (where's the glass of wine emoji? :))

Thank you for pointing out the lack of date on Zorro's thread for today. I completely missed that.

I had indeed forgotten about the different standard onset times for Lantus and Levemir. I went back to check and fortunately Macka is on Lantus. I must remember to check those details before the next time I try to "advise", which I won't do often as a newbie. Mostly I wanted to share with Penelope (Macka's mom) that I really feel for/with her.

Yes, during an active cycle Zorro can have a surprisingly fast onset on Levemir. Eg. on the evenings of 07/03 and 07/06, by the time I tested him at +3 for the first time he had already dropped from HI to 15.1 and from 26 to 15.5, respectively. He then rose very early during those cycles too and bounced hard, especially after 07/03. So now testing at +2 either gives me some peace of mind for an hour or two, or puts me on alert to feed a bit immediately just to slow down an expected drop. Zorro's sometimes fast drops is also the reason why I'm always wanting to be conservative with my dosing - yet I hate seeing him in high numbers.

We'll get there :cool::D
