Hoping to hear back from vet soon. His platelet count is low? Bun/creatinine is elevated again, but with normal bun:creatinine ratio.

Let me know if it would be helpful to screencap any details. Just curious if anyone sees something here I should be asking vet about specifically if they don't bring it up themselves.

Low platelets can often be attributed to clumping - ie. a product of the blood collection process, not the cat. I made other comments on your post in the Lantus forum.

Does that happen often? I'm extra worried about the platelet count because I am almost positive he had a tick on him that looked like it had attached and gotten burrowed. I took him to the vet literally the next day and they convinced me I was nuts and it was just a scab... I wish I had insisted on a snap test while I was there. It fell off the other day and I dropped it on the floor while trying to bag it so it's lost in the carpet now.

I just read that coq10 can inhibit platelet production... maybe that's not a good thing to give him.

I find low platelet count due to clumping to be relatively common. There should be a comment on the b/w results if that is what they see.

They don't show any further interpretation of the 'dot plot' but I'm hoping that if that made it to the vets desk they'd be on it if anything seemed awry..
