Yesterday, Butters had quite the bout of diarrhea (kept me busy all day: baths for Butters! laundry! cleaning! showers for me!) but seems to be doing much better today from a digestive perspective.

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting the new neighbour's cat. Butters is used to being able to bully and scare the old neighbour's cat off "her" property by hissing and growling. The new neighbour cat is a different story. Butters did her usual hiss/growl routine through her new favourite window, but this cat didn't run away. In fact, it wants to engage with Butters and attempted this by jumping up to the window to get closer to her:nailbiting:. Lucky it couldn't get a grip on the outside of the windowsill. It fell into a planter and skulked away after that, probably to round up some reinforcements.

She continues to be pretty flat I think. We are still at a dose of .625u.

Surf safely, kitties:cat:

What a way to spend Canada Day. I wonder if the cisapride dose needs a tweak?

She's looking good.

Oh my ….Poop Gate and Cat Gate :nailbiting:!!

“Reinforcements”….let’s hope not :stop:! I’m sure Butters enjoyed watching the cat fall…Buh Bye intruder!!

I actually had plans too...my first plans since I can't remember and I had to cancel them:rolleyes:.
Or maybe the miralax needs tweaking? I eased up on that. She is on 2.5mg cisapride q12, which I think is a pretty low dose. If her vet's office was open today I would've let them know what's going on and asked to speak with him. They took an extra long weekend and aren't open until Monday so I'm on my own. She had a small but normal poop this morning so I hope we are turning a corner here.

Lol! I'm pretty sure I saw Butters laugh and point when the cat fell:woot:. She had a rather self-satisfied grin on her face after that and she has become pretty obsessed with this window. I know where I'll be setting up the autofeeder for her tonight:rolleyes:.

I'm so sorry to hear that Butters had runny poo. Not fun for either of you! I had this problem when I gave too much Miralax. There was poop in every room of the house. Hope one day Ruby and Butters will both be able to have nice small firm daily poops. :)

Sorry your plans were ruined but I think even runny poop is better than none. Definitely decreasing the Miralax should help.

Are you at least loving your new place I hope?

Hi Lyla, glad the runny poop mess is behind you and hopefully stays there. I was picturing Butters giving the neighbor cat a little smug  face that unfortunately the cat probably could not see from the flower pot. Hope you are all moved in and able to enjoy your new place. Hope Butters itchies are gone. So glad you are posting again, you always have something kind or helpful to add to the mix. Take good care you two. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Poor Butters. I hope the diarrhea is cleared up now. I hope the neighbor's cat stays away from the window now.

Butters's usual Miralax dose is 1/16 tsp so pretty small. If no poop after a couple of days, then I scale it up to 1/8 tsp...as high as 3/16 tsp if needed. Her vet told me to do it this way but maybe it is still too much Miralax for her and perhaps it is more of a motility problem going on than a dehydration problem. But I'm scared to completely stop the Miralax even as a test:nailbiting:. I'm going to try to stick to the 1/16 tsp and see how it goes.

I sure am. Thanks for asking:). Butters loves it too. I keep losing her because she is has all of these new places to hang out and I don't know where to look for her yet.

Other than poop problems, how is Butters after the dental?
Her mouth must feel much better. She has been off the bupe for a few days now and hasn't pawed at her mouth at all. I think it is her stiff joints in her back legs that are really bothering her right now. That and the itchiness around her ears and face.

THanks Adrienne:bighug: I hope you and Dolly are doing good:bighug::bighug:

Diarrhea is back on but quite thick. She just acts like nothing is happening. No desire to use the LB.

Of course this goes down when her vet's office closed for an extra long weekend. So I will have to decide by myself whether to stop cisapride again or not. Think maybe I'll try q24 dosing tomorrow. I'm going to have to lock her in the bathroom tonight. Sad.

Hi Lyla, Her numbers are looking good. Sorry about all the diarrhea, Tyler has thrown up 3 times so far tonight, twice on the living room carpet, that was really fun to clean up :banghead:
Then once in the kitchen. He will howl before throwing up so now I pick him up ASAP and throw him into the kitchen.
I guess we are both having a fun night :(
And he's still looking to eat.
I hope the diarrhea ends soon ♥:bighug::bighug:

So sorry Butters and Lyla. Dolly’s throwing out her tummy/butt vibes to all. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
