Saw her Last night but she was sleeping peacefully so I didn't want to disturb her - think she needs to sleep as much as she can as she is probably exhausted (eh, like her mum!) I have updated her SS the best I can - need to get more info. She has a different surrogate mother today but she's a good one. Tashie has three veterinarian's all collaborating and all the tech's are taking really good care of her. Two in particular are making sure she is groomed and doesn't have food all over her from the syringe feedings. Yesterday one of them caught her sleeping in the litter and said "Oh! No you don't! Princess' don't do this Nataschia!" Just got off the phone and they told me she was looking quite perky this morning . Her AMPS was 522 so they upped the Lantus to 1.5U (yikes) but she is being monitored carefully. Just opened some "new" food for Boris (4%) It's a Cat's In the Kitchen one from Weruva called Splash Dance - it's STINKY and has a good consistency for syringe feeding so I will whisk it down the the hospital in a little while.
Boris is missing his sis but is milking it for extra treats and cuddles. He's taken over her "iPAD" ...... a little pillow I made her - I was thinking of taking it down for her but maybe he needs to have it for now? Took her a tee shirt of mine that hadn't hit the laundry yet so she does have that.
I was on pins watching the clock tick this morning waiting until I could call - why is it that a minute is like a lifetime when you watch the clock?!!!

I'll update as I get information. Thanks for all you kind words and prayers, they are much needed and appreciated. We aren't out of the woods yet

Bern & Boris missing Tashie

Re: 06/29 Tashie

Bern --

Just an FYI on assist feeding: Many cats will develop a food aversion to what they are being fed by syringe. I would not bring Tashie her favorite foods if you want her to eat them once she's home. This isn't always the case but enough people have reported it that it's worth knowing.

If you want to learn more about assist feeding, there is an excellent Yahoo group on the topic.

Re: 06/29 Tashie

Sending tons of prayers to you and sweet Tashie. It sounds like she is feeling better....perky is good!

Hospital just called me - they are being great about this as I just spoke to them at 8AM and they called at 10:30AM. Here's the scoop:

1. Just tested and she was in the 400's - as she was 522 at PS
2. They upped her Lantus to 1.5U but since she is coming down they are probably NOT going to give the "R" insulin and see how she just does on the Lantus
3. Tested with dip stick for ketones - NEGATIVE but took a culture and sent to lab to be SURE
4. Reported to be looking a lot better

I will be going down soon. I am taking a pile of towels, food, HER food bowls and going to spend some time in a room with her to see if she will eat for mummy - fingers crossed, she's a funny girl. Wish me luck! It will be a L-O-N-G weekend here - house is SO quiet without her - yet she never makes a sound! Miss my baby princess girl but I am confident she is getting excellent care. There are now 4 veterinarian's attending her and consulting. This is going to be a big $$$$ bill - I'm sure they don't want to mess anything up! They also know I "know" a lot of their patients and I have respect in the community - they don't want to mess with me! I am puling out all the stops here! Also, her "regular" vet is off today but also stopped in just to check on Tash.

More later after I visit.

Re: 06/29 Tashie ***Hospital Visit ***

Just returned home ,,, took tons of towels to put on the floor and HER OWN food bowls etc; She LOOKS GREAT! They unhooked her from her IV and taked her little leggie and she was wandering all around the room (((looking for a way out???)))
I turned the light off and Tashie & I listened to an audio book ..... no eating! Then, a light bulb went off! I asked then for some of the LC dry food that we had "talked" about when she was originally diagnosed but she seemed to transition well onto the wet so I left that alone ..... well, the DRY FOOD DID IT! She was chomping on it and I made sure I told them to call them "cookies" because she knows that word!

Her numbers so far today:
AMPS = 522
+2 = 443
+4.5 = 221

NO "R" today.

I will be getting calls over the weekend for updates - Thinking she MAY be home but Tuesday? Don't want to say Monday and be disappointed. Thanks all that are rooting for us!

xx

Yeah for eating!!! Even if it is the cookie kind. That must have been such a relief to you. I'm so glad she is doing so much better now. We'll keep our paws crossed for an earlier rather than later return home. :YMHUG:

(((((Bern)))))

What a great report for Tashie and it makes me :-D :-D :-D love the picture!

On the June 25th lab work yesterday, the reference ranges are all wrong. I think you PMd me that one of the tests they ran was done with the lab thinking she was a dog. I thought they reran all the tests? Did they give you the results of the rerun because I'd love to compare Jun 25 to Jun 28.

Gracie is packing all of her pretty pink things to bring to Tash ....she thinks she will feel better if she has everything around her in her favorite color.

Sending tons of white light, snowflakes, and healing vines that Tashie is home soon. BIg hugs to Boris. Tobey said he could bring him some cimmamum cookies and hang out and do guy things. ;-)

Oh that's wonderful news, good job Tashie purrs and head bonks,Now you can breathe a little. cat_pet_icon

Duh! They gave me that yesterday but they gave me the wrong one - here is the correct one! Date 6/25 and you can see above that it does sat "Feline" ...... wonder why it doesn't say "Princess"?

Gracie, thanks for sharing! Boris sayd Toby might be TOO young for the kinda things he likes to do - maybe Gus & he could exchange "guy" things? Like a couple of dirty old men! You know that Boris has had ALL of his "parts" removed due to his chronic cystitis, basically he's a girl - but you'd never know it coz he bites Tashie's neck and TRIES to do awful things to her sometimes!

Here's healing and appetite wishes for Tashie! Sounds like they are taking excellent care of her. I'm glad she's eating. Here's hoping she can return home soon.

Tashie is beautiful!! Sending well wishes your way girl. Sounds like she has a fantastic team on her side!!
Prayers and Purrs
o:-)

Yippee for hungry Tashie!! Hope she continues doing well - glad she has good people looking after her! Hugs for you Bern :YMHUG:

Thanks! I have to run out really quick but I'll look at them together when I get back. I dig this stuff....aren't I bizarre

I think Boris would find Gus a little on the boring side unless they just like to sit on the front porch and rock

Thank you all for the kind words - they mean a LOT! We just had a MAJOR storm with hail, it pounded and LOUD claps of thunder - I asked if they leave a radio on for them and they do. But then ...... the sirens started and then fire trucks were headed in the direction of the hospital (which actually is on the same road I live on but down in a "valley" but only like 7-8 minutes away) Made DH go and make sure the hospital wasn't hit by lightening! Hey, he already knows I'm nuts, this just confirmed it (again)
It's actually our 25th anniversary on Tuesday so we decided to go to dinner tonight and I'll be clutching my phone for an update of Pretty Princess Nataschia Isabella - I told the girls she "responds" to being called "pretty" and "good" Yes, I am certifiable these days!
Off to get dressed - it might be a quandary as it seems I have lost quite a bit of weight in the last 5 weeks - not good. Having a hard time eating so I might go whole hog and see if I can stomach a filet or something for the protein - I NEVER eat like that! xx

Marje: Boris says "Rock On" Gus! That Toby is just too much of a youngster, he will probably just want to text & play X box!
