Yesterday's condo:

WCR: Weight = 10.91 lbs. I decided to not do the dose increase at this time, and adjusted her SS and yesterday's condo to reflect that. I'll continue with the 2.0u for about another few more days or so, and will see what her PS #s do in the meantime. May have to make another adjustment this weekend, but we'll see what happens then.

Had to take one of our civvies, Scooter, in this morning after everyone had their meals. He wasn't urinating like normal in the boxes, and he would go constantly. We got there at about 9:45 a.m., and thankfully there was nobody in the waiting room. Momma Bean had to make a pitstop, and left the Scootums with the receptionist for a moment. Came back outside to collect him, and noticed that the vet was already waiting for us. Carried him to the examining room, and eventually he came out of the carrier on his own. The vet told me that it sounded like he has a bladder infection, then checked his colon, and told me that he wasn't constipated, which is a good thing. She managed to squeeze out a bit of urine onto the table, and used a strip (similar to the ketone test strip, but has more colors on it), and placed it on the urine spot on the table. His white blood cells were slightly elevated, but that's because of infection. I was prepared to pay $120 for the full panel of blood work if needed, but was relieved that it wasn't going to come to that (yet). Instead, we came out of there with pills for 7 days (antibiotics 2x/day), and $50.00 lighter. Fine with me. My DH was so beside himself yesterday and told me to let him know which day I was planning on taking Scooter in as he wanted to say his goodbyes to him. I KNEW it wasn't going to be that bad as Scooter was still eating his wet food, drinking (a bit but not much), and was still going to the litter boxes. I think DH feels guilty still for not saying goodbye to our beloved Jr. Mint, whom passed away in my arms due to renal failure in the very same examining room. Scooter's 14, and our oldest boy. As he's aging, I'm paying more close attention to what's going on with him as I know that renal failure can happen pretty much at any age now. Jr. Mint was only 11, and would've been 12 this July 11th along with his siblings if he had made it. I know I did the right thing, but it's never going to get easier as time goes on.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OTJ.

Re: 06/26 Blackie AMPS 172, +3 66, +5 68

Nice numbers for Blackie today. Sending prayers for Scooter to get over his bladder infection quickly. It is never easy to make that tough decision for one of our furbabies. We always miss them, but know they are better off now. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
