J.D. ate his 1st Breffis and is outside on the porch.


I had a hard time this morning, getting the dose. Tested at 5:55am, and got the bubbles out of the syringe and fed by 6:00am. Then it took until 6:13am to somewhat figure out what I was going to shoot. This morning (and my eyes are not all that good upon waking) the 0.50 looked more like 1.13mm, so when I squeezed out a pin head sized drop, the calipers read 0.86 or so, I think. It was soo hard to see. Anyway, J.D. got his 0.50 minus 1 pin head sized drop.


Ginger is anxious to get outside too, so I'm going to put her harness on and get her out for a quick walk.

Good luck on the dosing Dyana. You've done your best, it's just the wonky syringe screwing up the dosage. Nothing more we can do. I think you get to the 0.5 minus a pin drop is already great!

I think I'll stop testing for awhile, now :oops:
This morning, I was worried about J.D.'s weight. He has been a little bit off on his food, but eating enough, and it could just be the heat of summer, but, at +3.5 I decided to give him some cypro.

He ate his normal 1/4 can 1st Breffis at AMPS, ate his normal 1/4 can 2nd Breffis at +1. Ate part of his 1/4 can 3rd Breffis at +3.5. That's when I gave him the cypro.
At +5 he ate the remainder of his 3rd Breffis. At +6 he ate a 4th Breffis of 1/4 can. And now at +7 he just ate a 5th Breffis of 1/2 can of warmed up FF Flaked Tuna. :oops:

06/25 WEIGHT 13LBS 8OZ in AM. WEIGHT 13LBS 11.5OZ at Noon.

Really sweet pics of your two babies. It's just the angle of that one pic with the big butt! :lol: You should see Maggie's bb! Whatever the dose, J.D. is looking good!

Oh, my goodness - sometimes it takes me close to :10 to feel like I got the intended dose! I want to have it as accurate as possible and I have to agree morning doses are difficult at best! Sometimes I'll go get my readers and have even been known to recruit Jessica's 18-year old eyes to check behind me! Doug just goes in, draws it up first try, no air bubbles, and shoots with confidence.

Sweet pictures of your babies. And, yes, it's the camera angle. I don't think butt shots are flattering of any of us! :lol:

J.D. has had a nice day ! Measuring has always been the hardest thing ever & dont get me started on the bubbles!! That is my morning frustration! Also hard to teach DH!!!
And as J.D. is oh so handsome (even his lovely butt) but I would never weigh Moonie or myself 3 times in a day!!!-Only a cat can brush that off :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Nice day for JD! You'll get more confident with the dosing the longer you use the calipers but sounds like you did great and his numbers look like it.

Love love love the pics....how sweet! Ginger is so gorgeous and I love the butt shot :lol:
 
I guess JD was embarrassed by his butt shot and gave you the red number to show it. It is a rather cute shot though. And love the one of him and Ginger.
 
And, I don't know what I'm doing with these calipers!
The first syringe I took out. I got the bubbles out, and then I saw that the space between the top of the syringe and the zero line was wider than the space between the zero line and the 0.50 mark :roll: after playing awhile with that, I finally threw out that syringe, and got another one. That first one measured 1.50mm at the .50 mark. The second syringe measured about 1.33mm at the 0.50 mark, so I pressed out the one pin head sized drop and measured it at 1.20mm, and shot that.
Oh, I wish I knew what I was doing.

Beside the wet noodles I deserve for feeding him so much today, and then him going into bounce big time, and me itching to give him some R...

The last three doses of "s0.50" have been: 1.40mm last night, 0.86mm this morning, and 1.20mm tonight. UGH! Can you say Ugh? I can say UGH! I will get this. I will..

And, J.D. will come down from his bounce.
Right now, he is sleeping with a smile on his face. :-D
 
We just got back from a reasonably long walk, and I was amazed how well J.D. was walking while in the 400s. He even did more trotting them I've seen him do in months (okay, maybe it's the adequan shot he got yesterday).
Anyway, I have to sign out and call it a night. My weekend coming up is nil as I have to work both days and my next day off is sometime in July, so I must get what rest I can.
