Well, this morning I increased Gideon's Lantus dose to 1.5 units BID. I sure hope this helps my beautiful boy. He is acting fine. Yesterday, was a bit warm even with the window ACs on. All the cats ate less. When I weighed him last night, he lost a few ounces, but has been maintaining his weight. I am testing a bit more today.

I’m glad you increased. You need to keep doing so until you get to a good dose for him. Max got up to a F2.75.

What is so strange is that when he was on 1 unit, he took a mid-day dive, and we dropped him back to 0.75 units BID.
Do some kitties become "immune" to the Lantus, and keep rising? His 1pm test was +6 =514!

It's called glucose toxicity, from spending enough time in higher numbers, their body gets used to it. The solution is to increase until you get over it.

Another acronym for you if you haven't seen it is NDW or New Dose Wonkiness. Try not to worry about initially higher numbers after an increase, quite common.
