I was itching to give him a dosecrease this morning, but somehow talked myself out of it in the wee hours when I woke up, remembering that his PMPS shot felt like air (the plunger went in way to quickly) and that at 2:00am this morning I found a half of a bagel chewed on the kitchen floor that I had forgotten about sitting in the toaster over night. It must be hard to chew bites off when you only have 3 canine teeth to bite with, but he tries real hard.

I took the scary country drive to pick up his Cabergoline this morning, and arrived home for his +4 test and feed. He ate the food with the meds like the foody he is. I had to stop Sabrina from licking his bowl after.
I asked the teeny tiny local compounding pharmacy about some probiotics and the pharmacist said to call my vet first and check with them and said that some probiotics have ingredients that would be very harmful for cats. I have a few sachets of Purina Forti Flora to get me by if he should have diarrhea.

I'm glad I only have to make that drive every 3 months. The "highway" is straighter with more signals to stop people, but still is the same with two lanes and hills and twisty turns and people speeding. The country lanes are also two lanes (but narrower) with the double yellow lines the whole way (so no passing allowed), but lots of farmland and forests so lots of tree shadows on the road, and people (who know the roads) driving at 5 miles over the speed limit, and me (who does not know the roads) driving at 5 miles under the speed limit, so people "on my behind". Sweaty palms both ways and I didn't know I had to wear deodorant on a 72 degree morning, but that's how nervous I was. I don't like driving places I don't know..
I will add a comment about driving some of those same roads years (probably a decade ago), must have been in the evening - and on both sides of the road were hay? fields or something, and there were 100s of thousands of fireflies (aka June Bugs) lighting up over the fields on each side. It was like Disneyland 🩷 , so remarkable in my memory.

Okay, wish Jackson the Best Of Luck with his Cabergoline!

Hey Dyana, sorry to hear about the unfamiliar drive, I also hate driving new places especially if there are other people in the car! I hope you were at least able to enjoy the views this time around too 💜

Also, man, Jackson really really loves bagels and toast (Me too Jackson, me too lol).

That's very courageous of you to brave the country road for Jackson 🥹 I also hate when speeders ride right up behind you, it's not helping anyone!

This website, although focused on CKD, has a good description and breakdown of some probiotic options. Another one a lot of people use here is S. Boulardii, which is a human probiotic (only catch is if B12 levels are low, it won't work).

Good luck with the start of Cabergoline and I hope the journey becomes easier over time 🫂

I wish. I would love for someone else to drive where I could look at the beautiful views. I did not see any horses or cows or any animals at all, but I couldn't look to the sides as the roads kept twisting, and up and down hills, and small trucks with trailers were driving on the narrow roads with their wheels on the center double yellow line, and there were bicycle riders on the sides of the road
My iphone directions didn't work so good as it told me to turn right after I passed the road to turn on, so I had to pull into someone's driveway to turn around. When I asked it to give me directions home it said "getting directions home" and then silence. I said it again, and it said "you'll need to unlock your iphone first" and then "we do not recommend unlocking your phone while driving" OMG am I supposed to put my phone in front of my face in order to get the directions I need? What's the use of the iphone directions?

I've never been much of a bread eater, but do buy a loaf when I shop that lasts me about 2 or 3 weeks, and mostly in case I want a sandwich now and then. I thought it was the butter on the toasted bread that had him, but these were just toasted with no butter, and he got it anyway. Out of the toaster and into his mouth...

I lived a little over 10 miles (in the country) from where I worked. I knew the one road I had to drive on so well, I could drive it in a whiteout blizzard,
When my company merged with another one (after 20 years), to a place over 50 miles away, I had to drive on terrible roads through the cities on highways that were 3 to 5 lanes on each side. Some of the drivers were awful, and I always drove in the middle lanes hoping they wouldn't bother me. Some darted from the far right to the far left at way over the speed limits.
I always said "Thank You God." when I got to work and again when I got home. One day, it was raining and it was a part of the road that had lots of snaking back and forth S turns and this big rig was behind me and he kept flashing his high beams at me over and over and over through my back window into my car, probably beeping his horn too but I couldn't hear it. Then he got into the right lane beside me and started to move over into my lane and push me out of my lane.
A bit later, I saw him push a truck with a horse trailer from the 3rd (middle) lane over almost into the cement center divider. He had 5 lanes to get around that horse trailer. Another mile or so up I was in the right lane to make my turn onto my exit, and he (I'm assumng it was the same guy) was on my left, and the exit was coming up, and he cut me off to get in front of me to make the turn off the exit. This was a 25 mile an hour exit and he just cut in front of me. I was scared to death. I cried. I kept crying all day. I called my boss into an office, and I said you said I could work from home one day. Please. Memories 😢. I'm so glad and thank God all the time that I get to work from home now. Especially with Jackson's diabetes and high dose condition.
When I still worked 30 minutes from home way back when and J.D. had diabetes, I had to hope and pray everyday, that he would be okay. I would write on sticky notes at my desk "J.D. will be okay." and put it in front of me. I often would hear a song on my radio come on on the way to work "Every little things going to be alright" and that helped me immensley get through.
Sorry for jammering. Just memories.. and Thanking God now with my good luck.

Uh. My heart breaks hearing that you had to deal with that. Some people can be truly awful and to people they don't even know... it doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank goodness you're able to be home now. I'm sorry you didn't have that with J.D. It sounds very very difficult.

Stay safe 💕

I felt like I needed to sit outside tonight, and as I was sitting out on the porch he kept scratching at the screen door. I said you either need to get into your carraige or into your long leash, and I went into my house and he was getting into his carriage, so we spent some time in the nice last day of Spring evening.

I found this this morning. I never hit the enter key last night. He does like his carraige.
