Happy Full Moon And Lunar Eclipse Day! Hope it doesn't play havoc with your lives and your kitties' BG's.

So Tray's vomitting has subsided and he managed to hold down his food last night, with one throwup of a hairball this morning. I'm still concerned as I haven't seen any poop action. He will go in for the dreaded enema if nothing occurs by tomorrow morning. Poor thing, he seems happy enough but so far the metamucil hasn't worked its magic. Any other ideas?
 
Aw, poor Tray...he's been through the wringer lately! At least he stopped throwing up, aside from the obligatory hairball, that is. I don't have any ideas, but I hope he's feeling better and things start moving ASAP.

Iorwen - Have you tried pumpkin? I mix a couple of tablespoons in with their food and they really like it. It has a LOT of fiber. You have to be sure to get 100% pumpkin and not the pumpkin pie mix. Our Walmart has it in the baking aisle. I buy a large can and split it into smaller amounts and freeze it.

I have never tried it, but I also heard that for constipation milk is good. Something like 1/4 cup in the morning and another 1/4 cup at night.
 
Hi Iorwen, I hope you get some "action" today. But it's good that Tray has stopped vomiting. Keep in mind that all that vomiting up of his food might have pretty much emptied his intestines. It might take a couple of days to have a "poop".

If he's already constipated the stuff won't work on what is already there. An enema might be needed to clear him out. Maverick needed this. But he had repeat constipation. Even cisapride (intestinal motility drug) didn't work.

But to avoid him from a repeat constipation you should try pumpkin for sure. If that doesn't work you can try a different source of fibre or Restoralax/relaxaday which is the same as Mirilax in the US. It helps keep water in the colon.
 
I have used both pumpkin for Copper & Miralax daily for both of them --And Miralax is really doing it for Moonie--Come On Tray--I summon the Magical Poop, so your momma bean can relax & you will feel better-
Hope the LB gets some action--Glad he's not vomiting anymore! Come on Tray be all better by tomorrow-OK? Big Hugs from Us!
