Hello, it's almost goodnight but here's yesterday:

    https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/06-12-eddie-amps-365-2-320-9-329-pmps-344-8-338.291062/

So, today in between meetings I scrambled and found a vet who would examine Eddie re: the gagging. It's a good thing but I also have the dental surgeon and a leading specialist and remote anestheseologist on Eddie's case. They have each given me their cellphone numbers and we are texting.

Anyway, I managed to get an appointment at a local vet who often does dental surgery with remote anesthesiolgy so Eddie and I went this afternoon. Attached is the report which is inconclusive. Everything looks ok but the examination seemed less than thorough, really. One thing though: Eddie liked their food and so he started eating it and accommodated the examination by doing his gagging reflex. The question of an inner ear issue arose because of the head tilt. There is no odour, however, and the vet couldn't see anything significant so she gave him a couple of drops in the ear of Burrows Solution, ear cleansing. So, what is it?

He enjoyed the food at the vet even though he had the gag reflex so I brought some home and of course he ate some of it this afternoon. I thought Yay! But by shot time he couldn't remember if he liked it or not, of course. He will like it when it doesn't matter (ie. insulin). I think he likes it because there's corn starch in it (see PMPS for evidence).

Hopefully, something will come of this. There is a veterinary dental specialist-in-training here but she was taking the exam that the dental surgeon was invigilating and marking in Las Vegas and she won't be back until next week. She does have a scope, however, and if this is still going on, we'll head out to see her.

Oh, man, I was scrambling today as I was doing all this in between Zoom meetings at home and rushing up to campus for in-person meetings, then home to pick him up and zip over to the vet.

Uploaded link to video in next post. Has anyone seen anything like this?

The Google Doc says I need access. Is there a "share" button on the top right that allows you to select "those with the link"?

I can see it, but no clue why it's happening. Poor guy, he's clearly uncomfortable.

Could it be a polyp? One of my cats had one when she was under a year old, and it was apparently hard to see because it was missed by two vets, and finally found by a third. She did have ear drainage, but only because it had caused a bad ear infection because of it. They said it they can grow into the ear or towards the throat. I imagine that could cause gagging.

We're going to be checking for that. Thanks for the suggestion.
