06/07 Furball is okay, but Lucky is gone

Lucky passed away this evening. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and wishes yesterday for Lucky to feel better, but the cancer was too much for him. I will miss him terribly, but am grateful he doesn’t have to suffer. The vet told me when he was diagnosed with cancer in his ear that I could come home one day and find lots of blood coming from his ear. I dreaded that idea. I was praying it wouldn’t come to that and that God would take him peacefully in his sleep so he wouldn’t suffer. When I came home from work today he was laying down resting. He passed away shortly thereafter. I had thought about taking him to the vet to be put to sleep, but dreaded that because Lucky always got very upset having to be put in the cat carrier. I hated the idea of him having a bad trip and then being put to sleep. I’m glad it didn’t come to that.

Furball and MC are very disturbed. MC more than Furball because she was closer to Lucky. I’m hoping that Furball’s numbers will flatten out some now that the stress of Lucky being sick is gone and missing Lucky won't keep her numbers wonky.

Oh (((Carla))), I am so sorry about Lucky, I know how much you will miss him. It sounds like he had a very peaceful passing, which is what we all hope for. Cherish the good memories that you have.

I'm so sorry. I am glad that neither Lucky nor you had to go through the ordeal that you dreaded and instead, Lucky gained his wings peacefully in a home where he is dearly loved.

Oh my, Carla. Your post has made me cry~my heart is hurting for you. I am so, so sorry. Please accept my condolences. (((((Carla, Furball, MC & Family))))) There are so many precious kitties out there who are now greeting him at the Bridge.
 
Oh Carla, I'm so very sorry for your loss of Lucky. I have no words to soothe your aching heart.
I'm sorry little MC will miss Lucky too.

I am very sorry to read this news of Lucky, but, like you, I am thankful that he passed at home, when you were with him. Lucky was indeed a lucky kitty to have you for his mamabean and to have MC and Furball as his fur family. Fly free, sweet Lucky, you will meet many new friends at the Bridge.

My heart aches for you Carla. I didn't see your am condo and had a feeling :cry: So glad Lucky got to be in his own home and bed. Thinking of you. wings_cat

Carla, I am so so sorry about Lucky. I am glad though that he was able to choose the time and place of his passing. Somehow that always seems to make it a little easier. I hope too that all the memories will be of comfort to you. May lucky continue to watch over you all, MC and Furball. Fly free little one, all with miss you.

(((Carla))) just read this about Lucky. I am so very sorry for your loss my dear. I'm glad his passing was peaceful and you didn't have to stress him out by going to the vets. I am so very sorry...

(((((Carla)))) I'm so very sorry. Lucky is so well loved and loves you so well right back. He waited for you, the love of his life, to be with him, quietly, at home. Now, he waits for you at the Bridge. Play, and dance with your friends at The Bridge, sweet Lucky. Please send your mom a sign that you are ok and close to her.
