Good morning,

Had a few hours of good sleep. Have to teach today so...

Here is yesterday:

Eddie was somewhat resistant to eating this morning. He ate some of this food and then decided not to carry on so I liquified again and gave by mouth, along with 4u (still low) insulin. I've given: Ondansetron, Mirtazapine (recommended by dental clinic for 3-5 days), Buprenorphine and insulin.

Put Eddie in his safe house and he finished his food, so that's something.

and he finished his food,
Actually, that's huge! It's all about location, location, location for feeding.

With the weekend coming, we can talk about getting his dose back up closer to where it should be.

Might want to note "dental" on the spreadsheet - that can have a big impact on blood glucose. First numbers can be higher due to inflammation, then after 7-10 days when inflammation is down, the numbers will likely come back down again. In the meantime, don't want him sitting in high numbers.

Here is from snack time when I came home from work.

Ok, so he's high but right now he's eating! ON HIS OWN!

The day looked like this: AM: Resistant to eating but ate some. Fed by hand. Gave 4u. Once in his safe house after the fact, he will eat slowly... PM: a new strategy. I put his food in the safe house before testing. He ate it! I quickly took him out, tested, gave insulin and other medications. SO WONDERFUL TO SEE HIM EATING ON HIS OWN.

A change is as good as a rest, they say. Now that he realizes he can eat without pain, a slow, good change. I'll turn attention to proper dose but right now, seeing him eat unprovoked brings tears to my eyes.
