Hello,
here is yesterday:

https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/05-05-eddie-amps-x-pmps-306.290842/

Around 5:00am Eddie ate a Churu, which made me happy but at AMPS he's not interested in food. I've called the clinic and they are going to do a recheck of him in an hour or so and then I'll head back to the Okanagan.

I'll ask them to check for ketones and to give him some Ondansetron. I thought that's what they were going to give him yesterday but they the Cerenia injection. They said to not give any insulin yet. I'm torn but he's gone down since yesterday's PMPS on half dose (4u)

Now for the long dash homewards, which will take about 4.5 hours once I leave the clinic. I'll check here in case anyone, (Wendy? JL?), has any suggestions.

How does Eddie do on travel? I used to take Feliway spray with me and use that on hotel rooms and Neko's carrier before we left.

Has he had his morning bupe yet? Sometimes cats need it three times a day instead of twice. Good call on getting the clinic to give ondansetron if they have it.

What's his litter box action like? Bupe can also be constipating.

Anaesthesia effects on the GI can last a day, it's possible that plus pain are making him feel like not eating. What food are you offering him? Is it his normal food? Any chance you have, or could get something completely novel for him to try? I'm wondering if he's feeling some food aversion to what was offered when his mouth felt so bad. Or it could be whatever is causing the bowel thickening doing the same thing. Maybe the Tiki Cat Mousse products? They are soft and creamy and more complete food than a Churu. There's a Van Pet in Burnaby on Hastings, not too far from the clinic that has good selection. Or Tisol on Grandview Highway in Vancouver.

Hope you get out of there before the early after noon rush hours starts.

Ok, a very long trip since there was some construction thing going on that held up traffic for over an hour. Anyway, we made it.

Eddie was pretty cool on the travel. It was the hotel after the clinic that he found off-putting I think.

In the clinic, the vet said his mouth looked really good. She gave him 1/4 tab Mirtazapine (15mg tab, so about 4mg) and two tabs Ondansetron and 150ml sub-q. She recommended giving him another Buprenorphine, which I did along with 2 ml (8mg) Ondansetron (PM + +8.5) . I had to run out and get some groceries and when I came back I tried giving him some food and he licked at it...maybe later.

HIs kittybox action has been ok. Yesterday he did everything in the carrier and since then has been peeing in a good way. I'll see how dinner goes and I'm hoping. He's drinking a lot of water.

I have to decompress.

But I'm so anxious: what am I going to do if he won't eat again??? I cannot syringe feed. I need some advice just in case.

hello is anyone there?
I'm afraid I can't get Eddie to eat. His mouth is quite sensitive and he's at PMPS 407. He hasn't had insulin all day and only 1/2 dose the entire day yesterday. Is this 911???

Why can't you syringe feed? A little food in the tummy might get him going. Did you see my comment about trying completely different foods in case there is food aversion happening?

Not 911 - you could always give a half dose when they don't eat.

Here's what they did

Just looking at the picture now. Did they do stitches in the front too? Sometimes they won't for the little teeth.

Is he drinking? Can you do really watered down food?

Yes, he can drink water. I'll try that. I called clinic here and they are not being too helpful tonight.
