just to let you all know,i didn't increase last night.yesterday my bailey was in a bad way.walking on his hocks with his back arched.it was a sunday and all I had was the metacam that I felt I had to give.i had no choice.i COULD NOT watch him like that.that was given at +7 yesterday afternoon. I just had a sneaky suspicion that this would lower his bg as whatever pain he is in is causing him to rocket up.thank goodness I didn't increase.please see spreadsheet!
ive been to the vets today and got him some bubronorphine. the vets has given me two lots and wants to see how it effects him in relieving whatever pain he has. he spoke about gabepentine but he wants to find out first whats causing the pain. so hes back in a week tomorrow for sedation and other tests (he doesn't want to sedate him this week as its too soon since the last)) to make sure we get to the bottom of this! he will give him painkillers till that time so I know my boys not suffering in the meantime.
I so wish bails could just say,"mamabean,my backs sore today or I feel ucky." it make things sooooo much easier but instead its a process of illumination. this is all so tough and I know everyone will be telling me off for using metacam yesterday but I did what I needed to do to make my boy comfortable and just look at those numbers
edited to say .....just a reminder im on alphatrak so that 90 is a little lower! ive also tested on the freestyle light at exactly the same time with the same drop of blood and it was 64 on there.will monitor now.im just glad im at home with him
