05/31 Merlin PMPS 387, 374@+1, 317@+2,295@+3,275@+4,283@+5

130 @+4. Seems to be still dropping. If we want to keep it here, do we need to give food, or not? This is the point where I feel panicky and really dont know. I would give 1 spoon of LC, but that might mess things up…

130 is great Jill. He’s coming down in a very sedate manner tonight. He is still in very safe numbers. I would be inclined to not feed as we don’t want him to stall. How about we don’t feed and you test in 30 minutes and we can see where he is up to then. How do you feel about that?

I have to head off to bed now but Suzanne will be around if you need her.
I think Merlin has done really well this cycle.
I think feeding a bigger pre shot meal of normal low carb instead of holding back in case we need him to eat was a good idea.
And feeding the 15% a bit after +1 before the big drop we identified in an earlier cycle, slowed it down and the whole cycle has been much better and it looks as if the duration is going to be longer this cycle.

My conclusion with this +5 is no food needed. He is still surfing, but heading his way back up. Now my question is, how much should I feed him before PMPS and at what time? As he heads back toward the red, like he does every day, will a little LC snack at some point take his numbers down at all, or even up? That red time is a mystery to me. Is it because its such a low amount of insulin?

Also, another question. Should I keep testing him hourly to track how long the blue lasts? As Im not using the libre anymore, I hate to poke his ears too much. But it may be important for us to know how long the blue lasts?

in this scenario, you might even give his ears a break until PMPS after the next test, as long as it confirms he is still rising which is almost certainly what we'll see. Probably up in the yellows

but up to you of course, I know you've been testing a ton because of the ordeal of which we will not speak :)

Up to you, Jill. I would give my cat's ears a break. There are other days where hopefully you won't have to test so much in the morning (we can hope) and then you can get some spot checks in the afternoon.

See ya later for the PM cycle. :-)

Please keep your spreadsheet updated with the numbers. I would wait until 1.5 and get a test then as we did this morning.
Then, since he is known to drop early in the cycle, I would go ahead and feed him the higher carb 15% food just like we have been doing in other cycles.

Ok. I looked at this morning, and am hoping to repeat it, so I fed him the two small spoons of 15 at 1.25, even though he wasn’t falling as fast. I hope I didn’t mess it up.
