Yesterday

The last time I tested J.D. before falling asleep, he was 197 at +4.5, when I woke at +9.75 he was 427.
So, he's coming down a little.
We leave for tbp in about 90 minutes from now.

Thanks everyone to helped with the chanting yesterday. It worked!

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

J.D. is doing so much better--I remember his big drops, and looking at your SS now, what a difference!!
But we know he does bounce, so I'm sure he'll be back to nice numbers maybe today or tomorrow-
Dyana, you are one of the most devoted beans I know here, always keep plugging away to keep J.D. well & happy!
And still working a million hours a week--Just wanted to say you are great! He is really lucky to have you--

Re: 05/23 J.D. AMPS 396, +3 343 Phenoxybenzamine Question

Hey thanks Roni and Pat! That means a lot to me. :YMHUG:

J.D. was fine, until he saw me pick up his going-to-tbp-bag. He went down to the basement and peed a decent amount in his litter box, and I thought he was going to poo, but.. he is having that stress related pee thing that he gets. He keeps going from one litter box to the other, and peeing a drop or two. He has done this about 6 times, and always stress related, and at least 5 of those times on a Sunday (so twice he went to the ER because I thought he was blocked). The problem usually last about 20 to 30 minutes and then he is fine. I just gave him some Rescue Remedy orally. The ER gave me some phenoxybenzamine and the bottle says "Phenoxybenzamine 2.5mg/#14 capsules each - give 1 capsule orally once daily for 3 - 5 days. This is a urinary sphincter relaxant; use if cat is still straining. We gave you a few extras" I think it's okay to give him when he does this, but wanted to pass it by you. I'll bring them to tbp with me, in case I get an answer. We leave in like 5 minutes. He will probably be fine by the time we get to work, hopefully.

Thanks for looking.

Re: 05/23 J.D. AMPS 396, +3 343 Phenoxybenzamine Question

In the past, when this has started has the straining persisted more than the one time?

I would wait to see if the problem is a one time response to stress today. If he's still straining, I'd use the Rx and if not, hold off.

Re: 05/23 J.D. AMPS 396, +3 343, +6 237

Thanks Sienne.
He's relaxed now. He (pee) stressed a little bit when we first got to work. It may or may not have been related to the fast S shaped swerving I had to do to avoid 2 road kills right next to each other on the way to work. He ate some food about 30 minutes ago with two more drops of Rescue Remedy on top.
All is well, now.

Oh, no, not flat

Home from tbp. J.D. thinks tbp is borrrring.
Outside for a few minutes, then bed, I hope..I took a sleeping pill to get back into the groove of early to bed early to rise

I'm glad that JD relaxed a bit once he got to tbp today. Poor thing...he hates work just like the rest of us, lol.

Sorry I missed the chanting session yesterday, but it looked like it worked well w/o me. Enjoy your snooze tonight and I hope JD sleeps right along with you!

most people think flat is good, but I can understand why it makes you nervous with J.D. He doesn't stay flat for long.

Have a good night, Dyana!
