After no shots yesterday she still wakes up with an awesome number.

And recap for yesterday...
10:00 AMBG 82
12:00 +2 71
2:00 +4 83
5:30 +7.5 98
11:00 +1 127 (pm)(She also ate some of her favorite food. Lamb and rice and it's still a normal)

So happy with these. :-)

very nice.

I'm going to paste our OTJ Trial instructions here. These tips might help you and Splitzie.

Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).

If she is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If she is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If her number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then her pancreas is working!

Post every day so we can monitor your progress and see if any tweaks are needed. It is not unusual for cats to get lots of blue during their trial, especially at first. Don't panic and don't shoot unless we tell you to.

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give her the support she needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Good luck!

WOW! What fabulous progress!!!

I'm sorry I can't remember this. Did you change Splitzie's diet - eliminate hard food, something like that?

Yes, we have been very strict about her eating the dry. She has been eating Fancy Feast low carb. Then once in a while for a treat, she was getting Kirkland signatures canned dog food, lamb and rice. lol Yes, dog food. She was at my mom's and her dog gets that, she went nuts and ate a ton. This was when she really wasn't eating much, were feeding her anything low carb that she would eat. The only dry she gets is a grain free, again, dog food. But, with her teeth issues, she doesn't eat much dry anyways.
Thank you for the instructions for the OTJ. Fingers have been crossed for a few days now. lol

Dog food really isn't good for cats! It's not nutritionally complete for a feline. Cats are obligate carnivores; dogs are omnivores. Please ditch the dog food, especially the dry stuff. It's essential for getting Splitzie to remain diet controlled to control his diet!
