05/21 Henry, AMPS 265, +4.5 257

Hi Karrie,

Getting more tests is always helpful. This forum is very data driven, and it's helpful especially when you're starting out to get readings at +1 occasionally like you did yesterday to see how much of a bump Henry is getting from food. Even if he seems to be high it's important also to get a couple of mid cycle tests, say at +4 or +6, to see how low the dose is taking him.

A few housekeeping details:

Here is your last thread: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/day-2-henry-amps-10-8-give-1-0.247580/#post-2792614. We ask everyone who posts in the forum to include their last thread in the first post of the day so that we can follow along in your kitty's journey.

Because this is a US based forum, we also ask all members to post their numbers as the US numbers because that's what we're all used to seeing, so instead of 14.7, you'd give us 265.

Finally, if you could change the format of your title thread to the following every day, it helps members and moderators scan the forum more easily because there are so many kitties here and helps us intervene more quickly if you need help: DATE, Name of Kitty, AMPS (insert US number), +4 (insert US number). For today, your thread title should look like this : 5/21 Henry AMPS 265 will get a +4. To edit your thread title, go to the top right corner of this screen and click on "Thread Tools" and then "Edit Title." Please update the thread title with each new test result, so we can keep up with the day's progress.

You're doing great! Henry looks like a sweet kitty. :bighug:

I've done this once before 10 years ago, even though I'm not a newbie, it is just as overwhelming as I remember. I appreciate the guidance and reminders. I was sure I had pasted the old link in, but obviously didn't. Henry doesn't have a food bump as he eats free all day. I can take his food away from say 6am to 8am and do a test and then put the food bowl down.

Sorry that you're back here again after a 10 year hiatus. It's still the best place you never wanted to be. :bighug: By food bump I meant to see how his numbers react to food. This is newbie stuff though, so sorry if it's not new info for you.
