J.D. didn't eat that much cat food last night, but he ate 1 jar of baby food beef with broth. I gave him some cyproheptadine and ondansetron this morning at +11.5 and he has eaten pretty well so far.

We went for a walk, and the neighbors cats are fed and litter box scooped. I barely have time to do my cats'.

J.D. was going down a little and eating a lot of food when I walked out the door to go to work. So, hopefully he is surfing along nicely.

So, sometime next week, I will have the Jarrows and the Methylcobalamin and the Gelatin Capsules. How do I get the stuff into the capsules? Do I make a funnel from a piece of paper? How do you guys do it?

Hi Dyana:

I bought some little tiny funnels, like you use for cosmetics. You need something to hold the gel caps while you fill them. I looked around and found a chopper I have that has trays with a grid pattern, and the gelcaps fit in there pretty well. What I didn't realize when I first started doing it is, you should tamp the stuff down in the capsule, so each capsule holds more. It took four or five capsules to hold one pack of Forti Flora before I realized I should be tamping it down, and then I only needed two!

These were the funnels that worked best for me: Funnels.

I go off the deep end on things, and I eventually bought a capsule filling "machine" (misleading term, as it is all manual). It does make it easier, but it's probably overkill unless you're doing a lot of capsules. This is where I bought mine. Kinda pricey. They also sell gelcaps:

Bed Bath & Beyond sells a set of 2 mini plastic funnels for $1.49. They fit into the size 3 and 4.

When I started giving Ripley her Jarrows B-Right, etc, I purchased gel caps through Amazon, and also bought these cute little measuring spoons. (I had estimated how much 1/10th of a capsule was, but cannot remember what my "calculations" were.)

I hope J.D. continues to eat well for you today.

The cats ate well today judging by the food that was eaten while I was gone. Ginger threw up, but that's Ginger.

J.D. is acting happy, and that makes me feel good...even though he bounces.

He hasn't eaten a whole lot yet tonight, but hopefully he will eat enough to satisfy me.

I have a Bed Bath & Beyond right around the corner from me. Where would I look for these funnels?

I was less scientific which probably made doing it harder. I love Tricia's little funnels!!!

I have these tiny glass bowls. I would open several Jarrows B Rights and dump the entire contents in the bowl. Then I would open up one methylB12 cap and one empty cap and pour 1/2 of the methylB12 into the empty cap. I'd set one down. Then I'd use the other empty half of the gel cap and scoop it into the Jarrows B Right until that half was full and then I'd put the capsule together tightly. I'd repeat with the 2nd half that had methylB12 in it and the other 1/2 empty cap. Laborious but I'd do it while I was watching TV. Wish I had been as smart as Tricia :lol: :lol:

I found the funnels where they have the kitchen utensils. When I cut up the amlodipine I end up with some powder so I use the funnels so as not to lose any. Someone told me she puts slits in egg cartons and puts the gel caps in them to pour powder into them.
