I guess J.D. is bouncing from the drop after PMPS. He ate well last night.
J.D. did throw up on my bed, some food and what looked like some foam maybe at +9. His tummy is rumbeling this morning.

It's already late, and I need to get dressed and get the kitties out for a walk, and take care of my neighbors cats, and get to work. I'm a little tired, but the TinyDancers kittens are born :-D

I'm hoping to get J.D. to eat some more before I leave.

Marje, can you provide me with a link to which methylcobalamin on Vitacost, and tell me how to split a Jarrows B Right into tenths, please?
Don't forget he was super high on his cobalamin test last July.

The vet told me to back off on either the methylcobalamin or the cyanocobalamin. I stopped the cyano at first and kept the methyl until he had a pancreatitis flare, then I stopped the methyl and have been giving the cyano every other week now.
I don't have it on my spreadsheet, but it written on a piece of paper that his last cobalamin test was >1000 last September.

I was hoping to get some opinions on the Vitamins and Methycobalamin and B12, and J.D.'s high reading of cobalamin last time.
I am tired, sorry for being a grump.
I am off to do a H.O.A. thing, and then take care of the pet sitting cats, and then take my cats for a walk, and then hit the sack, I hope.

I'm sorry, Dyana. I was helping Anne with Pixie and also trying to do a few things around here.

This is what I used from vitacost. methylcobalamin.

What I did was open a methylcobalamin capsule, pour half into an empty gelcap 3 capsule that I got at thrivingpets.com and then fill the other half of each with Jarrows B Right because that is pretty close to 1/10th. Then I gave one of the new caps BID.

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure about JDs cobalamin test and if that is cyanocobalamin or not. The vet would be the best person to ask. Methylcobalamin absorbs more slowly esp when given orally. I don't know if or what problems can occur from too high of a B12 cobalamin level.

I don't know anything about the Nutrived.

I ordered the Methycobalamin and the Jarrows B Right from Vitacost, tonight. With 4 day shipping it should be here by next Tuesday :roll:
Does anyone know where I can buy some empty gel capsules 3 from any stores? There is a compounding pharmacy that is in the next county over that I can try, maybe on Saturday as it is a long drive and their hours are the same hours that most people work.

J.D. had a nice walk this evening. He hasn't eaten a whole lot yet tonight, but some here and there. I just opened a bag of Orijen Free Range Bison Dog Treats that he loves as he loves all of the Orijen freeze dried Dog Treats so far.

He got his big vitamin and his probiotics, and I am fading. I got up at 3:00am or a little before when J.D. threw up on my bed next to my head, and logged into the TinyDancers and luckily missed the still born birth. I stayed up until a half hour before I had to get up... watching nothing happening. When I logged on this morning, I did get to see one of the Ginger kittens being born :)

Off to bed for us.

yes, i think some stores sell gel capsules. i'd call around first, because it might be something not every pharmacy carries.

Never heard of the Jarrows B Right....guess that is for CKD. Maybe I'll look into that for Spot.

I hope you can get some sleep tonight...some nice peaceful sleep and one that doesn't involve waking up to pukus.

I did get my gel caps from thriving pets. Capsuline might send you some to try if you call them and say you saw their ad in a magazine. Some people have been able to get them at health food stores but when I tried they only had larger ones. You want size 3 most likely and the sell in the 000 and maybe size 1 but they are too big. The bigger the number, the smaller the gel cap. If you have a compounding pharmacy locally they might have them as well. The one I asked wanted too much for them. Thrivingpets charges $3 per 100 so they are really cheap.

Capsuline has pet-sized gelcaps. Some drug or health food stores may carry them. I'd also try GNC or a VitaminShoppe, too.

Thanks. I just went and ordered them from Thriving Pets. They were only $3.00 for 100, so I hope I purchased the right ones.

You did get the right ones. They are really cheap. I will never understand why vets don't sell them. Mine had never heard of using them. I can't tell you how much they helped me with Tiffany and now with Max. I have used size 3,4, and 5. They charge triple for the size 5 and they are tiny. I thought since Max only gets his BP med it would be a good idea but really they aren't any easier. Capsuline sells them by the 1000. They have flavored but I don't get the point to that because we don't want them to eat them, LOL. I hope they work for you too.
