gosh what a mess this am shot.i do baileys shot in my lunch hour so to get a reading of 121 an hour before shot time then a 115 at shot time. I couldn't think of anything else but to leave it until I came home 2 hours later! I had to feed him in my lunch hour bless him as he hadn't eaten since I left at 7 and had been sick ( hence low reading) I then got a 343 so gave him his insulin.it was the safest thing to do with having to back to work after lunch.

hes not good at all.so lethargic that most days hes lying down to eat.i cant wait to get him to the vet.meanwhile im just taking care of him the best I can.hand feeding etc.its so very sad to see! yet sometimes hes not too bad.in the night he was rummaging under the bed,sat on the window ledge watching the birds. he meowed for breakfast then didn't eat much at all.its so very worrying and I feel so mean if hes in pain and its taking til Tuesday to sort it but the head vet (the man in charge and owner of the practice is only in on Tuesday) that day cant come soon enough!

since you weren't going to be home, that was a good decision, anna.

i'm very glad you're taking him in for a full exam. when you describe him as feeling so poorly, i wonder what else is going on. This doesn't just sound like it's only blood sugar fluctuations making him feel crappy to me. Remembering that these are AT numbers, that 115AT is about 85ish on a human meter, which is not high. Even the 350AT is about 250 human meter, so while not a good number, it doesn't seem like this alone would be enough to make him want to lay down to eat all the time and be described as lethargic, or to make him not want to eat.

I would suggest you get a full blood panel, including thyroid test, to see if anything is out of line.

hes doing every check possible.it needs to be done.hes not right!!! hes had a better evening tonight.hes got up and eaten his tea properly like a normal cat. he also got into my friends bag and played under the chair so that was lovely to see.yet his numbers are high probably from a bounce but I don't think his behaviours are bg related if im honest. im lucky he is a big strong cat and has age on his side so lets just hope WHATEVER it is he'll fight it and get there with some help from the vet!

if I ever get my boy back I know im going to be very emotional.if its something horrid that needs extensive treatment.knowing his stress factors and how he is at the vets I couldn't put him through it! it was tough tonight as my childhood friend had lost her 17 year old dog 2 days ago so we're both going through the mill.it made it even worse as she used to look after bails while I went on hols so for her to see the difference in him and him still want her snuggles it was tough for her..........and me!!
