Going through the AB injections we decided to give B12 shots also. One of those thing "it can't hurt". It seemed to really help him. So rather than stress him out and take him up to the vets (and pay $25/shot) I purchased a vile (more like a jug, it's huge - lol) for $10 and I am going to give them myself. I haven't given it yet. I will probably do it tomorrow night so it is easier to remember when to give the shots (every 2 weeks for now).

Good morn, also missed your condo. Why are shots better than B-12 orally? How did you know Gizmo was B-12 deficient?

My vet wouldn’t give me a script for it, I asked he said he can take pills

Well, he tends to me anemic and b12 helps with that plus it is suppose to help with appy, so not necessarily deficient but falls into that "can't hurt" category. Hard to say if it was the b12 or AB or Cerenia shot or the combo of them but he did so remarkably better the two months he was getting those so I am going to see what the b12 will do by itself. Still giving Cerenia pill and Ondan but seems much, much better today than over the past week.

Yes. It can even be put into the sub-q line when giving fluids but we Gizmo :rolleyes: still isn't doing real good with the fluids so will just give the shot so I know he gets it.

Gizmo has FD, ckd, pancreatitis, high blood pressure, heart murmur and possible heart disease of some sort and is a holy terror at the vet and stresses himself out so bad I am scared he will die everytime we go to the vet. I no longer ask - I tell them what I want and argue with them:joyful:. Maybe that is why they fired me - lol.

B12 (oral) wouldn't hurt. See link below for dosage (etc.) I give Gizmo 250mcg AM & PM. The shots work differently.
