J.D. ate his 1st Breffis of FF Chunky Turkey. It's his latest favorite. I offered him a different flavor at first and he didn't want it. He's been pretty much eating FF Chunky Turkey for the last 24 hours.

Hopefully, he'll start to have better numbers now that it seems he's down from that high bounce, otherwise a dose increase is on the horizon.

I have to go get some more Nature's Miracle or whatever it's called. I used the last I had yesterday morning.
I put a lower sided litter box in front of the higher sided litter box because J.D. pretty much stands when he pees and goes over the side. Sometimes now, he pees in the lower sided litter box too, and shoots right over the side. The carpet feels wet next to the litter box although I don't see anything. DBF was saying he smelled cat pee. I need a huge easily movable plastic tray or something to put under these boxes.. any thoughts? I don't think a plastic tarp would work, the pee would just run off.

Hope everyone has a good day.
I hope J.D. comes down nicely, today.

Re: 05/01 J.D. AMPS 381

I have used lids from storage tubs under cat boxes in the past. ( had previous cats who would miss occasionally)
I usually have a tub or two that cracks and hang on to the lids for a while.
That's probably the cheapest solution and you can wash it easily. And it would catch some of the litter.

I have also used a tree stand stray from Christmas ... but that won't be out there for sale right now.

I hope J.D. slides down for you. In the past I've used one of those big litter boxes with a lid and put the lid on so the cats can't hang over the edge. I don't know if a lid would work for J.D. though.

Re: 05/01 J.D. AMPS 381

Thanks.
What is a tree stand stray? I tried to Google it.

The storage bin lids are a good idea.

Last year, when we went to visit my dad, he brought out this little litter box for J.D. It don't even think it was 10" by 14" and I felt bad for laughing because I knew he meant well. If J.D. could get all four of his feet in that little box, his tail and back end would just naturally be over the edge. We put a plastic garbage bag with pee pads between the litter box and their white carpet. The next day I went and bought a bigger normal sized large litter box, and we kept the garbage bag and pee pads under it anyway and it was a good thing, because he still had "accidents" where he went right over the side (poo and pee) sometimes.

We just got back from a decent walk, and J.D. just finished is working on his 2nd Breffis, while laying on the couch, feeling the breeze from the open sliding glass door..

Thanks, but I don't want to use a lid.
The big one I'm using now, looks something like this

I just use the bottom piece which is pretty tall, but his tail and back end are taller :-|

I was going to suggest a lid too. I have to have one for Molly although she gets turned around and when her tail is next to the door, she has the same problem. Pee pads would be great but not a long term solution. Sorry I can't think of anything better.

PetCo sells a rectangular litter box mat that is rectangular and you can wash it. Stella had that problem when she had neuropathy. I am not sure if you can find it online.

Have a great day!

I just use a lid from an old container as well. Tarragon sometimes shoots over the box and that catches it. Have a great day Dyana!

Re: 05/01 J.D. AMPS 381

Hi Dyana, hope you find something for J.D.' a lb. I like that mat, thanks Stella. Mags sometimes stands with her butt close to the entrance and pees outside the box on the carpet.

I am googling it too and it's the wrong time of year. They will be out again around Christmas.
Mine is square. I guess the recent trend was round.

it's probably still cheaper to get a storage container from walmart.
You could use the lid under the cat box and if you have room under your bed.... use the bottom to hold something else.... or in the car to haul cat food.

we seem to get enough cracked tubs that we always have lids left over....
it's like the lost sock.

Hi guys .. it's nice to see J.D. working his way down from the upper floors ..as far as the plastic trays go my mom uses one that would slide under a bed, for like sweater storage .. she sets the box in the back and it comes out around 2-3in on each side and then about 2 feet or so in front of the box .. it helps keep in a lot of the excess litter too .. have a great day guys!

That sounds like it would work great, except I move the litter box from side to side alot as it is in the space that's is about 4 feet wide between two doors. It's in a nook, at the base of the basement stairs with the door to the basement on one side and on the other side is my coat closet where my vacuum cleaner is stored. I'll figure it out.

The doctor called me with the results of Saturday's Urinalysis and UPC tests:

UPC is less than .2 (Normal)
No Ketones (Normal)
Sediment is inactive (Normal)
No White Blood Cells (Normal)
No Red Blood Cells (Normal)
PH 6.5 (Normal)
Blood Pressure is "Borderline", but he says he probably would not treat due to no Proteinuria (sp?).

I told him I'm still going to get a second opinion this weekend with the IM doctor.

Back to work... L(

What about those clear plastic covers used for really big sheet cakes? Not the foil bottom part. Those easily develop pinholes.

You can always get puppy training pads - and strategically place two of them under and around the LB.

Good luck with the second opinion - where are you going?

The other option may be a big storage box and you can cut an opening in one of the narrower ends. Of course, it works as long as J.D. doesn't decide to pee by the opening. Friends of mine did this and the box is big enough to hold 50 lbs of litter. It's a BIG box.

The majority of the time, that's what he does Sienne. He walks in straight, and sometimes he leans back a little so his butt is against the front - "opening" side, and pees :). I found some more Pet Stain Oder Remover, I just need to get one of those black lights to find the spot. I'll put some pee pads down for now.

Hillary, we are going to see Dr. Deborah Ward at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough, which is a lot closer to me than their wonderful facility in Tinton Falls. I hope she is as good as the vets they have in Tinton Falls.
