GOOD MORNING! :)
AMPS 367
Missy is really confusing me now. 367 at AMPS was not what I was expecting to see this morning.
I was wondering if it could be the insulin? The vile I have is over 3 months old now and it's getting quite low. Maybe it's not as effective anymore. Just to rule that out I decided to use a new vile this morning and keep her dose the same that way we can see if it was the insulin or if she really needs an increase. I tested ketones and they were NEG. No behaviour concerns, injections are good, appetite is good. It just doesn't make sense but I haven't been at this long enough to know if this is normal or not. Hope I made the right decision. If not I will increase either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Have a great day everyone! :bighug:

Does it look cloudy at all? Are you keeping it in the fridge? I had the 10mL vial as well, which is what I assume you're referring to, and I used it for six months. TBH, it probably isn't the insulin. I think many of us have blamed the insulin for higher numbers at one point or another, me included:bighug:.
You may just need to chase her a bit to get her to come back down. It truly is a dance:bighug:. I have been up and down with Butters. I really hope Missy comes back down for you soon.

I vote increase. But then again this is a new bottle so I don't know if people usually hold for a bit with a new bottle. Maybe go back to the old bottle and increase. It doesn't look like an insulin issue to me. It looks like what happened to Pearl. She was surfing one day, and then the next she was NOT, even with the same dose. Missy's jump is also sudden. Wendy told me that this IS a "thing" that happens with cats. They are ok one day on a certain dose, then the next they are not - it can be that quick of a change.

You also test a lot, so I know you and Missy will be fine. That is what helped me to go for the increase with Pearl - the confidence of knowing I test so much, having some kind of emergency low is probably noooooot very likely.

HI Lyla
The insulin isn't cloudy and I have always stored it properly in the fridge. It is over 3 months old and getting pretty low. It was just such a shock to me to see her numbers change so quickly. It makes me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one who has experienced this. She is doing better tonight thankfully.
I hope you and Butters have a great night and she is feeling better! :bighug::bighug:

Hi Margaret
Thanks for sharing what happened with Pearl. These girls sure have a mind of their own. Missy is starting to look better tonight. Im not getting too excited yet. Let's see how this cycle goes. Have a great night with your girls. :bighug::bighug:
