Good morning!
First a big big thank you to Marje @Marje and Gracie, Bobbie @Bobbie And Bubba and Sienne @Sienne and Gabby (GA) for their advices, support and presence during Ti-Mousse's hypo yesterday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
When those things happen, knowing you're not alone makes a huge difference!

Ti-Mousse got his dose reduction last night and now he's watching birds after his breakfast as if nothing had happened .....! :)

Hope all kitties are SAFE today!!

Thanks for the shout out.

Just an FYI - unless a kitty has symptoms related to hypoglycemia, it's not a "hypo". Rather, it's just low numbers, even if they are scary low numbers. Gabby hit some very scary low numbers but never had physical symptoms which is why is makes most of us cringe when vets say not to test unless you see symptoms.

If I understand well: very very low numbers without symptoms are life threathening but you just have to bring numbers up; but for that you have to know he's in dangerous low numbers (testing).
Hypo is not just bringing numbers up but taking care of complications that have to be dealt with urgently. Is that it?
Can we assume that some cats have hypos and some others only have very very low numbers? Tks

That's correct. Regardless of whether a cat is experiencing low numbers or is having an episode of symptomatic hypoglycemia, the numbers have to come up. Either way, you want to respond quickly since what may be low numbers could become a hypoglycemic episode in the space of a very minutes. It may be a technical difference although it is most likely a difference that is based on how long a cat is in low number or what their threshold for low numbers vs hypoglycemia is.

Sienne, I'm so glad you clarified this for me! It's so important and I didn't have it right.... I was under the impression that if you had very low numbers without symptoms at first, you would not get any symptoms! I'm happy because now I know, but I just hope I won't have to go through this again! :)
Of course, I guess no one knows what triggers a sudden drop in very low numbers.....!!!!

Good job handling the low numbers yesterday. That was too much excitement in one day!:arghh:

I hope your daughter's house is OK. Watering restrictions start here next week. Crazy mixed up weather.

A good thing I prepared condensed instructions 2-3 weeks ago which bizzarely were on the fridge.. :p When I saw 1.7, I looked for my glasses I thought it was 11.7, but NO :woot: As soon as he started to go up, I asked for help to make sure I was doing OK!!! I wonder why this happened; he had plenty of food! From now on, I'll be so worried each time I leave...

My daughter has 3 pumps running all the time; hopefully it should slow down by Thursday! It's gonna be cleanup time after!!
Too much water here and not enough where you are :rolleyes: Yes, everything is all mixed up!
