Good morning!
AMPS 133 shooting 2.0u

Boomer ate all of his overnight food except for about 1/2 tsp. He decided at 5:45 this morning it was time for the Beans to be up.

It's cold, cloudy and windy today; far too windy this morning for photography:( There is supposed to be some sun later and the winds are supposed to die down a bit so hopefully I'll be able to get out. Meanwhile, finishing my daughter's income tax (due on the 30th) and indoor chores are on the to-do list.

Today's photo was taken a couple of days ago; I saw Mr & Mrs Wood Duck hanging out by the far shore of a small dark pond so I hung around (being very still and quiet) and sure enough they came out into the light.

Thank you so much! My Texas bird field guide has Blue and Black-headed but not the Rose-breasted. He has been back a couple of times since but I am sure he is just passing through
I see one at my feeder once or twice in the spring and that's it; but into early summer they're pretty easy to find at one of our local ponds or at the river.

The lagoon beckons, Deputy Boomer!

Great photo of the wood ducks, Judy. I saw a flock of about 7 of them on one of our paddles this week. They are neat! @LizzieInTexas : Rose breasted Grossbeak. Also neat. The migration map shows that they migrate through Texas at this time of year on their way from Central America to their breeding grounds in the northern states and southern Canada.

We're heading to NYC this week to see Wagner's Ring cycle at the Metropolitan Opera (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday nights). I'll be walking in Central Park some days looking for birds. Gus will be coming with us and I hope he'll be a better passenger this time (he's a good traveler, but needs to be a less active passenger!).
