To further the discussion on carb content and type, @Karen and Chispa - looks like rice may be his trigger carb, he holds and rises better on the MC Friskies Mixed Grill, as opposed to the HC FF gravy, which is wheat gluten.

Also, I'm curious if your theory had any weight regarding beef food, @Angela & Cleo
?

The reason I ask, is because on Monday when Sly dipped I gave him FF beef with gravy, which is not a usual flavor, I just had some leftover from a large case of mixed cans. And surprisingly, he went up quickly, but the chicken and the whitefish flavor do not.

That could all be coincidence, but trying to get a better gradient on the curve feedings.

Great start Sly! Cruise safely today!

I too would be very interested in learning the beef business. Think it is something to do with beef itself, or other ingredients that make kitties carb-reactive?

I'm not sure, just found it quite odd that he spiked on beef, but not the other flavors..?

Either way, he spiked after his dose tgis morning, probably will have a bouncy cycle after his green streak.

Hi Deb Sly is looking good.
Testing Carb and protein sensitivity is a long and arduous process . Cleo was/is/will be a very bouncy kitty. Even removing the beef protein from her food rotation, she still has had higher numbers. So my results are questionable.
Interesting results from the FF beef in gravy. Can't wait to see if you can replicate that result :)

Yeah, we'll try again on another low drop cycle, he's trending up now, but that's ok, his ears are probably sore from his hourly testing yesterday.

I definitely think the carb type holds weight though, the MC Friskies Mixed Grill absolutely holds him better than tue FF gravy, so for now that's my go to. I'll look into other flavors too that are MC, because rhe whitefish and the turkey variety are LC.
Science!
