Hi everyone,
We have not posted in 2 weeks, but it has been a busy time. Tipper was just discharged from the local ER and speciality hospital.
What started out as a loss of appetite and some peeing outside her litter box ended up at the ER.
Briefly, brought her to her primary vet- thought she might have a UTI but everything was OK. We had changed her litter to the Worlds Best Litter but she thought otherwise. I loved it, no large clumps, extra absorbent and nice texture. She didn't- she won! We went back to the old litter. All was ok for a week.
On Monday morning @ her shot time I noticed she had vomited and had not finished her food. She would not eat her breakfast. I did not give insulin, came home early from work, sky high BG's and still had not eaten and she was hiding. Gave her a small dose of insulin and feed her some baby food and water from a spoon. Vet could not see her Tuesday so office said to bring her to the ER.
Admitted to the ER, blood panels, urine cultures, Xrays, ultrasound, Iv insulin drip and she was stable. All test results are OK-
consistent with dehydration. A GI panel was sent out to Texas and will have results later in week. The ultrasound needs to be repeated in 1 week because they found a slightly enlarged lymph node. Primary vet suggested Lymphoma but she will need further testing. Hopefully the enlarged node is from inflamation.
So we are back on track staring with a dose of 2.00 and praying for the best for our little Tipper.
Thanks for reading and will update
Patty
