So last night I fell asleep and was an hour and half with mom-mom's shot. She didnt really get too high. I gave her 0.25 at 9:15pm. She started out this morning on high but +2 = 496. Thats better right? I can make up 15 minutes on every dosing time? meaning 15 minutes early on each dosing until I make up the 1.5 hours?

Hi guys .. bummer on the late shot but it happens .. sometimes our bodies just need the sleep! I "think" that is how you would correct the lateness but I honestly don't remember .. but I am sure someone will be around soon to get you on track .. I'm heading out of town today so have a great weekend!

15 minutes a cycle is the usual time we use for adjustig shots. Remember that a late shot acts like a decrease in dose because it starts to drain the shed. If Mom-mom's numbers are still way up there tonight you could be more aggressive in advancing the shot time. Get a +10 or +11 and post for advice then.

I'm not able to give dosing advice but I have read that you can either give 15 minutes early each shot or 30 minutes early one time. Then you wait 24 hours for another 30 minute early dose. It came up with adjusting for daylight savings so you might search that topic but wait for one of the experts for advice. I hope the numbers come down soon.

Yes that's what I was told too 15 minutes each time so I can gain 1/2 hour each day. I just did her +9 is @ 571. So its SLOWLY down. Thank You for the post. I am trying so hard, I really gave up any kind of social life but, this cat is like the child I never had, I would do anything to save her. She is definitely part of the family. My step-daughter is in school for nursing and I'm trying to show her how this is done so I can at least go out on a boat for one day this summer. My hats really off to all of you who have been doing this for a long time. I pray that Jesus gives me the strength to do this as long as it takes. I am soooo grateful for ALL OF YOU

When a cat's numbers are this high throughout the cycle and at shot time, it's also possible to shoot an hour early providing you'll be around to monitor.

Thank You Sienne for that info. I always get nervous even when I'm only 5 minutes early. So I especially freaked out when I dozed off with out shooting last night and was 1.5 hours late. I made up 1/2 hour today, so I am at 9am for tomm. I have my alarm set for a few tests tonight too. As far as her being monitored, I NEVER go anywhere, except next door for cigarettes. I feel like its definitely my responsibility until she is better, I have stayed by her side since she came home from the vet. She is probably the most sheltered cat in the world, which can be bad when she has to go to the vet. She gets separation anxiety worse than me. LOL Even when I have a doctor appt. for myself I stress big-time until I get home. Thanks again. Good Luck to you too

Laura, I meant to give you this post yesterday when we were talking about getting used to shooting lower numbers. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=147

It's divided into 3 information sections - the 2 parts you need the most right now are the one about becoming data ready and the one about low preshot numbers. I'd suggest you read those through a couple of times - ask about anything that seems unclear - to help you get prepared to be able to shoot lower numbers with Mom Mom.

Thank You so much Julie. I will be sure to read that in the morning when I wake up. Her PMPS was hi, and so was +1, but @ +6 shes 454. I think my baby girl is trying just as well as I am. Again, Thanks for the tip. Will read in am
