04/09 Jax - Thank you ❤️

We helped Jax make his trip across the rainbow bridge about a week ago; his ashes were home the very next day (Faithful Companion was excellent). Thank you to everyone for all of the kind notes and messages - I am so very grateful for the friends I've made here and for all of the love and support. We are all still getting used to our new normal and we talk about Jax daily - he sure provided us with a lot of entertainment

I also wanted to drop off two books that have helped our family in case they may help someone else - The Rainbow Bridge: A Visit to Pet Paradise (the main pet in the story is a dog but it paints a sweet picture of what all kinds of animals must be doing on the other side) and Cat Heaven (my kids particularly love the cat on the man's head).

Susanne- I’m so sorry to read this and for your loss (I’ve been helping my parents move so I’ve been away from the board and had no idea). You gave so much to Jax and your Jax stories had me laughing during some difficult times. Jax was so lucky to have you and your love. Abby and I are sending you our best healing wishes.

Thank you so much for your sweet note Shannon Jax's stories still make us laugh and and I'm glad he could provide some comic relief to you too I hope Abby is having the best time at the falls and hope the move for your parents went smoothly

Oooh what a beautiful cat Jax was! Adore the pictures. I'm impressed by how strong and steady you have seemed since this happened and happy you were able to find those charming books to explain where Jax went to your kids. I'm sure they were sad too that Jax "left", which is what we say in my ancestral culture instead of "passing". It means he's no longer physically here, but is still somewhere out there, looking out for all of you. Big hugs to you, Susanne.

We miss Tiger's brother Leo so much. He was such a cool cat. He even learned to do high fives for treats at age 15! Still talk about him all the time. Sometimes Tiger roams the house howling and I think he misses play-fighting with Leo. ((hugs to Benji))
Fortunately we had taken in a little girl stray and they run up and down the hallway together!
I am grateful for your support and input.

Aww thank you Benji's handling all of this like a champ. He does meow a bit in the evenings, which I don't think he did before, but he settles down if I go find him (why he won't just find me, IDK ). And my boys rumbled almost daily...I still don't know how much was "playing"

kids are the best. I tell my youngest to say hi to Jax (his urn is on our mantel) and he yells at me that only Jax's spirit is here For awhile, he thought Jax's body was smushed into the urn, so we had to look at the ashes a few times and have some good cremation discussions
