03/26 MISSY PMPS 248, +2 268

Oh no, what happened with your calipers?! Missy is looking good today!
Hey Margaret
I realized today there was 0.25U above the zero stop on the syringe. I've recently started using my phone camera to magnify the syringe and I am able to see so much better. I also started using the calipers again and things just didn't look right. I spend some time this afternoon looking at all the syringes I have and I didn't realize each syringe could be so inaccurately marked.
I'm pretty sure I have it all figured out now thank goodness. Hopefully this will really help get Missy into some nice consistent cycles. I hope you are your fur babies are keeping well. Have a wonderful weekend!! :bighug::bighug:

It's crazy how off the printing can be on those syringe barrels. When your dose IS .25 units, being off by .25 makes an enormous difference! I turn the syringe to the side without the lines and measure from the plastic stopper. If the lines are printed properly I do use them to check what I've done, otherwise I ignore them.

So you have been giving 0.5U rather than 0.25U? Since when? All the last 4-5 cycles since you increase to 0.25U?

That’s exactly why I started using the calipers. So I made sure I used an accurate syringe to set my calipers. I actually keep that one syringe in a drawer now in case I would ever need to compare my calipercsetting against an accurate syringe. But I definitely worry less now. I can’t believe there can be such variance with the syringes!
