All P's in place!

I need some advise/help. How will I know if it will be an active cycle at these numbers. I need to know how to know it is safe (relative) to go to work.

Also, appy questions - it seems he has decided to become a grazer - he no longer runs to his food bowl when it turns. He may mosey over there in 30 min or so and nibble for a bit and then go back in about 30 min (etc.). He may or may not eat all or part of his +4.5 or +6.5. He is getting a little under 3 oz/cycle. Should I be concerned about that? There doesn't seem to be any reason or logic - it just seems that he isn't hungry.

These are new (and exciting) numbers for him - mama just needs some guidance.

What a beautiful change in your ss!:D I think the decreased appy is due to the normal numbers. I found that with Max. I also think it might but hopefully not be due to the chronic pancreatitis as it ebbs and wanes. It was always the first symptom and often the only one for Max. If they eat too much at one time it can make them feel yucky so grazing is his way of adjusting instinctively. It will also help keep him flat and from dropping as much so you can go to work.

As for signs I wish I had a crystal ball. Do you use an auto feeder? That will help. With Max I usually knew by +3 if he wasn't going to drop. Otherwise it was -+5 but I was lucky I wasn't working because I couldn't use an auto with him.

I do use an autofeeder. Depending on his eating he basically has access to food from +2.5 through +8.5. Last turn of the autofeeder (+8.5) gives him his FD snacks that stay available until PMPS.

I am going to see what he does with eating today. I have been stressing and trying to "make" him eat like he used to. I think it is becoming an issue so I am not going to force or encourage and see how he does. He does seem to be food driven when he drops low, but again, still new to these numbers and I am not confident with that always being the case. I just need him to get safe so I can go to work.

How did you handle that? That is one of my concerns also.
I make sure he gets the important meds/supplements and then try to mix more of the other supplements in the same meal instead of different meals. But not sure he should get all those supplements at the same time. Sometimes, I have to just skip a supplement. It hasn't been easy.

Well, everything I put in his food is supplements (no meds) - my attitude is at least he is getting some. IDK, just trying to do the right thing for him. I know you know how that feels.

Maybe too much?
IDK.

I have a plan. I am going to decrease his food per cycle. ^^ I was wrong. He is getting 4.375 oz/cycle. I am going to bring it down to 3.75oz/cycle. That will make his meal/snack potions smaller and may encourage him to eat more frequently.

How did you know at the lower numbers? Like this morning - his +2 was 105, if it was going to be active would it have been less than PS#? Just like at higher number cycles?

Max would onset between two +2.5-3 usually. So if his +2 was dropping I knew he might have an active cycle. If around the same as his preshot I felt he would be flat. If lower I had to watch longer. When you need to go to work you could try feeding a little higher mid carb food before you leave and put in the auto feeder. ECID so experiment when you can monitor. Sometimes you will have to go with your gut and feeder higher carbs before you leave and in the auto.
