Good Morning Everyone! My name is Patty and my cat's name is Buddy. This is my first post here. Diane recommended I start posting here.

I saw the shot go into his skin this morning. When I pressed the plunger the insulin came out into my hand behind the skin. I think the needle came out the other end somewhere. his fur was also wet. I need to be much more careful :(

Yeah Patty you did every thing perfectly.
The members are so helpful here ,and Elise @tiffmaxee is one of them :bighug::cat:
I'll check on you and Budster later :cat::p
Down the road if you want to save some money, I know the Alpha Trak text strips are crazy expensive, you can switch to the Relion Premier Classic from Walmart
It's 9 dollars and the test strips are 17.88 for 100
I see on your SS your vet wants you do show her the curves you do using the alpha trak
So just use that for the curves , you can just note that on your SS that your vet wants that

Or eventually just tell her you can't afford the test strips anymore
My vet didn't mind at all when I switched

Our Dr's last day is also on Monday when she reviews our numbers. She's leaving the practice. I am looking forward to her replacement actually. ;) Buddy and I will not miss her lol. I will ask the new Dr. if he/she is ok with the Reli on!

I'm hope you like the replacement better, one thing where you have small feed for today, you out it in the spot for tomorrow's date, you can get rid of that and leave it in the remarks section like you have it :cat:

I am certain we got the evening insulin dose in just fine. yay!

when i was getting Buddy set up with his pmps...i poked my thumb and bled with one of Buddy's dirty used lancets from the previous test. pretty painful. i washed with alcohol. def an off day.

Buddy did ok with the new +3 and +5 tiny meals. he was pretty hungry and upset so i fed him the rest of the 3 oz can at +9. he also got some freeze dried snacks. i made sure he didnt eat 2 hours prior to his pmps.

for his evening meal i really loaded up the bowl of 3 oz of wet food with water. he only ate half and is currently napping. i made the mistake of not loading his am meal with water.

Sounds good I have poked myself before and it does hurt!
On the weekends if he's really bugging you to eat give him a little at +2, +4 and +6
ya know a tablespoon or so with water. Sounds like adding the water is filling him up
In a couple of days I'm going to ask some members to look at your spreadsheet and see if you should up his dose of insulin .
Eventually you will get to know the members on the lantus board and if you have a question you can tag them

Thank you for all your help! Tomorrow I will feed him at +2,+4, and +6. He was quite the cry baby today about food and gets pretty hangry. After I fed him his pm meal and gave insulin he seems more relaxed now and is currently napping. :cat:
