03/23 KOBE AMPS 94; +2 68; +4 63; +6 76

What are the chances of a sugar cat going hypo on 0.1 U or a drop dose?

I'm asking because this is the most consistent Kobe has been in weeks. I am wondering if, rather than pushing for OTJ trial this week or next, could I keep his 0.1 dose or drop dose and gradually increase his wet food to kibble ratio? I'm wondering if that would help to get his AMPS and PMPS a little lower into the "Normal Cat Range." His kibble is technically low carb, but we have experienced exactly what you all describe: that kibble acts in the body like it's got more carbs than it actually does.

I was reading the links and posts for the Lantus, Levemir, and Biosimilars group, and Normal Cat Range is lower than I thought.

A cat could drop below the normal range of BG even at 0.1U or a drop dose.

I wonder if some of the blues you are seeing are him bouncing from limes that haven't been caught in tests. He is dropping below your reduction point of 70 at 0.10U. You could try a drop dose from tonight. The normal range with a human meter is 50-100 mg/dl and Kobe is falling in that range most of the time. Even with the dry food. Although ditching the dry food can only further help his numbers.

It's definitely possible that he's hiding some limes... I try to check at weird times, but mom's gotta work and mom's gotta sleep! Kobe may be one of those cats that gets his nadir often at the end of his cycle. He will still be surfing and going down when I take his AMPS or PMPS. One member suggested I start getting some +2 data because they spotted this pattern. It was a good insight and suggestion. I used to be most worried about lows from +7 to +9, but Kobe's lows tend to happen in the hours just before and after his shot. Not always.

You are absolutely correct about the 63 and 68 being below our reduction point. We will take the reduction tonight and then reduce kibble by 0.5 grams in a few days after we see how he's doing on the drop dose.

Thanks for your reply. It's such a relief to have another pair of eyes and all of the experience that comes with them! We are grateful for the support! :D:D:D
