pookie back up quite high this morning so today I believe is his curve day as this PMPS insulin will be day 7 cycle 14, i think he might need a bit of an increase in tomorrows morning shot!! by.25 to 1.75U, while he's been in the blues in the past 2 days his numbers are still going quite high at points will test him every 2 hours today to see what his curve looks like just to help us see if he will really need it or not !! is there any advice they would be helpful as this would be the first time we've ever maybe change the dose of insulin
 
Keep working the juice, Pookie! I don't give dosing advice but perhaps @Wendy&Neko or @tiffmaxee can stop by today to check in about the increase.

Does your shot schedule allow you to get that +2 or +3 at night? A lot of people call it the "before bed test" and it can be telling about the cycle to come (and often kitties go lower during the night...because cats :rolleyes:).

Yes !!! I totally can get the +2 or +3 in before bed tonight!! And will try to more consistently weve just been busy the last few nights but tonight I'll get jt :)

Totally understand :bighug: if you can consistently get it then you'll have a lot of insight to the night time cycle. I'm sure Wendy or Elise will stop by re: the increase!

I just tested him at +8 I was helping family
Move so I wasn't able to test since +3, still in the yellow down to 218 now, I agree I think in the morning we will up his dosage but I'm hoping the start of the blues is more to come !! We've got him not eating any dry and I think it's helping already
 
ok so i just tested pookie he is quite low only 7.6/ 137 this is the lowest I've seen him while he's been with us !! going to check every hour after i give him his evening meal!!! I'm actually surprised how good he is tonight!! but i should i keep him at his current dose of 1.50U for the morning dose if he needs it? or would i still increase .25 like i thought i might need to tomorrow as it would be the start of a new cycle. thank you all for the help i get every day !! I've been taught so much and still have lots to learn!!
 
ive only had him since Tuesday last week !! so a lot of his high numbers have been from stress but I'm just not 100% sure if i should try and increase his dose in the morning
